COFFMAN ARTHUR L. 95, of Waterford, Ohio, died Thursday, January 10, 2013, at his home. He was born June 6, 1917 in Dungannon, Ohio to Clarence and Della Cowell Coffman. He was a 1936 graduate of Beverly High School. Art retired from the Detroit, Michigan Police Department in 1969. Following retirement, he and his wife moved back to Waterford and built their home. He was a member of the Belpre Church of Christ and the Detroit Police Officers Association. Art is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Sawicki (Edward) of St. Clair Shores, MI; two sons, William of Warren, MI, and Kenneth of Traverse City, MI; one granddaughter, Cindy Millns (Glen) of Warren, MI; two grandsons, Kenneth Coffman, Jr. of Racine, WI and Sean Coffman (Tracy) of St. Clair Shores, MI; four great-grandsons, Anthony and James Craechioco and Robbie Coffman, and Brandon Milewski. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Bryne Coffman in 2008, four brothers and four sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 14, 2013, at the Barlow Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with Ron Laughery officiating. HULL ROBERT JAMES Was born December 15, 1930 in Rochester, New York. He was a graduate of Notre Dame in Business. He proudly served in the United States Army. He went on to work for Corning Glass, Bendix, and retired as Vice President of Denso. He loved working, sailing, reading and family. Survived by his wife, Lois Hull of Farmington Hills; and four daughters, Kathleen McCormick of Strongsville, Ohio, Suzanne Hull of New Canaan, Connecticut, Barbara Choate of Pomfret, Maryland, and Colleen Hull of Grass Lake, MI; five grandchildren; and three sons-in-law. After an illustrious career Robert gave back to society through his countless hours of volunteer work with AARP, Local Area on Aging, Elder Law of Michigan and MPRO. He received AARP's "Shining Star Award", a highlight of his volunteer career. He closed his life with peace. "It has been a great life", he said. He passed away January 9, 2013 at Legacy Assisted Living in Jackson, MI. He died from lung failure. KING JOHN THOMAS, SR. Age 86, of Dunlap, went to be with the Lord eternally, with his family by his side, on January 9, 2013 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Pontiac, MI. He was born September 1, 1926 in Dunlap, Tennessee to Jesse S. King and Icie M. (Cunningham) King. On March 23, 1945 he married the love of his life and his best friend, who survives him after 67 years of marriage, Margaret Lucille Narramore King. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from January 1946 to January 1947. Following his military service they moved to Detroit, MI where he worked as a police officer in the Detroit Police Department until he retired in 1980. They moved back to Dunlap, TN and got a job with the City of Dunlap where he worked for ten years and served the last years as a city investigator. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sister, Viva Folsom of Garland, Texas and a host of brothers and sisters-in-law; his children, Gail (Robert) Parks, Janet Colleen (Gian) Delpiano, Lisa (Mack) Harris, and John Thomas (Lynne) King Jr.; his beloved grandchildren, Allan (Regina) Parks, Chrissie (Jeff) Coop, Kelly (Jerry) Burhams, Alisa (Kurt) Hahn, Kara (Kenneth) Cheatham, Jessica Delpiano (Bassel), Jason (Susie) Gonzalez, Lyndsay Gonzalez, Colt D. Harris, Clay (Jennifer) Harris, and Casey Harris; great- grandchildren, Bobby, Nathan, Ryan, Desirae, Zachary, Trevor, Tyler, Bradley, Logan, Jared Gian Thomas, Colby Seth, Skylar, John Connor, Caitlin, Jayla, Jayden, and Taylor.
