de MANINCOR WILLIAM J. "P`ere" age 90, former resident of Redford Twp. and the Philadelphia area, passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 5pm, surrounded by loving family. He was born on February 24, 1922 in Mt. Carmel, Pennsylvania, the youngest of the thirteen children of Tyrolean immigrants, Sisinio and Maria Rossi de Manincor. After graduation he joined Ford Motor Company, married Ann Mazur and proudly served in WWII in the Army Air Corps. Following the war, he returned to Ford Motor Co. and retired after 40 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife, Ann Mazur de Manincor, daughter, Ann "Nana", and twelve siblings. He leaves children, Bill (Lin), Faith, Denise (Jim) Dodson, Lois (Roger) Ditmar, Richard (Bonnie), Mark (Donna) and Nanette Good; thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, a great great grandson and many nieces and nephews. PORTER KATHERINE KELLOGG 53, of Pittsfield Twp., MI, died suddenly on January 11, 2013. Born in Connecticut, Kathie was the eldest of three daughters of Constance F. and Robert L. Porter of Canton, CT. Kathie, also known as KK or Kate, will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, bright eyes, impish smile, and her inquisitive mind. In Canton Kathie offered her musical gifts- singing in choir, playing in concert and jazz bands, and playing the organ. Kathie received her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1986. She married Jean-Pierre Trias, a fellow alumnus. Kathie worked in the IT and finance departments at J.B. Lippincott in Philadelphia. She moved to the Ypsilanti area in 1999 to work at Advantage Computing Systems. In her position of Quality and Assurance, she worked across the company from sales, software product design, and client training/operations reviews. She served clients around the world. Those at Oxford University Press nicknamed her Bright Little Bunny for her eagerness to jump right in and fix problems. Her tenacity earned her the nickname Bulldog at Advantage. Her willingness to answer questions and offer technical assistance, coupled with her down-to-earth manner were appreciated. Kathie never saw a stray she couldn't help, whether human or feline. She loved gardening and cultivated a wild meadow garden. Her kind, warm heart will be deeply missed by her parents; sisters Martha Porter and Sarah Porter; brother-in-law Matthew Bernstein; and nephews Asa and Otto Porter-Bernstein; and her 4 cats. A local Remembrance Gathering will be held on Saturday, January 19, at 1 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Ypsilanti, 209 Washtenaw Ave. A Memorial Service will be held in Canton, CT, on January 26 at the North Canton Community United Methodist Church.
