ALUZZO VINCENT "JIM" PETER Died January 30, 2013 after a year-long struggle with dementia. He was 86. Born in Detroit to Italian immigrants Anna and Salvatore Aluzzo, he served in the Army in Europe during WWII. After the war he attended General Motors Institute, beginning a 40-year career at Cadillac. He retired in 1986. He enjoyed music, golf and bowling. His wife of 63 years, Sarah, died April 5, 2012. He is survived by six children: Annette (Dennis) Kingsbury, Denise (Charles) Hessler, Nadine (Roger) Weyersberg, Adrienne Aluzzo, Michelle (Gregory) Skurya and Salvatore Aluzzo. DALESSANDRO DARLENE MARIE (DOGORIN), 71, died on January 29, 2013. She joins her loving husband, Philip, of 43 years for eternal rest and peace in Heaven. Darlene was the daughter of late George and Leona Dogorin. She was born and raised in Allen Park, Michigan. After meeting her husband Philip, they moved to Akron, Ohio where they resided for many years. She will be remembered most as an incredibly sweet womana loving mother, sister, and friend. Darlene was a devoted wife, caring lovingly for her husband in his years of need. Those years of love and strength symbolize her dedication. She was very proud to be a beautician many years ago in her mother's beauty shop. After moving to Ohio, Darlene created a beautiful home life for her children. Whether she was baking Thanksgiving pies or planting spring flowers, she took pride and found joy in the little details that made others feel welcomed and loved. Darlene was a long-time parishioner of St. Sebastian Parish and more recently a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary in Cuyahoga Falls. She was a past President of Sanctuary Society of St. Sebastian and an active member of Christ Child Society. Darlene will be very dearly missed by all who knew her. Especially, her son, Patrick (Amy) and their girls Mia Darlene and Evelyn of Akron; her daughter, Lisa (Keith) and their girls Lily, Sophie, and Grace of Akron. The girls will miss their Mimi and loved her with all their hearts. She is also survived by her loving sister, Marianne (Kurt) Carpenter of Clovis, CA; and sister-in-law, Theresa (Frank) Fodale of Commerce Township, Mich.; and brother-in-law John (Dawn) Dalessandro of Taylor, Mich.; as well as many special nieces, nephews, and dear friends. MEYER ROBERT ERNEST SR. ., of Allen Park, on January 30, 2013 at the age of 88. Beloved husband of Irene (Bachor) for sixty years until her death in 2009. Dearest father of Tom (Maralee) of Ypsilanti, Barbara (Joseph Lucas) of Dearborn, and Robert (Shirlee) of Portland, Oregon. Devoted grandfather of Rachel (Jim), Sarah (Christopher), Benjamin (Tasha), Mary, Joseph, and Jacob (Nicole) Meyer; Elizabeth (Austin), John (Beth), and Robert Lucas; and Emily (Marcus), Alyson (Jared), and Michael Meyer. Much-loved great-grandpa to Katie, Emma, and Natalie Forsyth, Xavier Bell and Kaidin Meyer, Jack and Sammy Lucas, and three more great-grandchildren expected shortly. Dear brother of Ruth Burton and the late Alice, Marie, and Mildred. Bob was the son of Ernest and Alice Meyer of Dearborn. He was a graduate of Fordson High School. He served proudly in the 246th Combat Engineers in WWII, landing at Normandy on D-Day plus three at the age of nineteen. He was seriously wounded in the Battle of the Bulge while his company was constructing bridges and clearing mines, for which he received the Purple Heart. After five months in the hospital, he was reunited with his company and was about to be shipped to the Pacific Theatre when the war ended. Bob and Irene were among the earliest members of St. Frances Cabrini Parish, and he greatly treasured his parish and the friendships he made there in the Cabrini Dad's Club. He was a tool and die maker by trade, and used those talents in his retirement to create beautiful woodworking and scroll saw projects which he generously shared with family and friends. He was still creating projects and enjoying his Dads' Club lunches and Saturday morning "breakfast club" with his buddies as recently as December. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and long-time neighbors. Denise took great pride in her beautiful flower garden and was looking forward to gardening again this spring. She enjoyed the outdoors, hiking and her summer vacations on the Great Lakes with her family and rescue dog Scout. She was an accomplished photographer, musician and calligraphist and a superb writer, whose wit and quips were unsurpassed. Denise would often surprise everyone with her extensive knowledge in many areas and was never far from a book or newspaper. She was a vocal supporter of environmental causes and animal rights, which are values she instilled early on in her daughter's life. She was also a proud Democrat and a proponent of progressive issues and fairness for all. Denise cherished the simple things in life and her family and friends always came first. She will be sorely missed by her fellow colleagues and students in the East Detroit Public Schools District, where she has been a dedicated educator since 1995. Denise was awarded Educator of the Year Elementary Division in 2009 for her uncompromising hard work, devotion to her students and her above and beyond dedication to the district. As a union representative, she ensured that her fellow union members were updated on important issues and was a consummate supporter of the district and her union. Denise was the brightest, kindest and gentlest soul in the lives of everyone who was touched by her and will be forever loved and remembered. The family is appreciative of and will accept prayers on her behalf. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

WASCHULL RONALD D. age 70, of Sterling Heights passed away on Tuesday January 22, 2013 at his home. Ronald was born on June 12, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan the son of Gottlieb Waschull and Anna (Malonek). He worked at the General Motors Tech Center for 41 years until retiring in 2004. H loved boating, music especially the Trombone, astronomy, history, and the internet. Ronald is survived by his son Alexander Waschull of Algonac. Daughter Laura Waschull of Lapeer. His ex-wife Julie Kost/Watterson of Imlay City. Nephew Michael Waschull of Alexandria VA. One grandchild Konrad Waschull.
