BOTTLE W. A. "BILL" age 89, passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2013. He was born August 24, 1923 in Cleveland, Ohio, son of W.A. Bottle Sr. and Ada M. Bottle. On January 11, 1944 he married Betty Aline Jones who preceded him in death March 26, 1997. Bill was a flight instructor during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He served at many Army Air Corp and Air Force Bases thru the Occupation Forces in Germany after WWII. He continued flying throughout his life. Prior to retirement he was a manufacturers representative with his father selling automotive aftermarket parts and supplies "W. A. Bottle Sales Co.". During his retirement he became active with the Civil Air Patrol in Boca Raton, Florida attaining the rank of Major. Flying and golf were the highlights of his life. He is survived by his companion Vida (Betty) Diener; his children Robert Bottle, Barbara Gallagher, Leslie Garten and Linda Yamarino; his grandchildren, Tammy Rozenberg, Tim and Troy Bottle, Bobbi DeWater, Karen Kozerski and Susan Cathcart, Paul and Ben Garten, Shawn, Diana and Joli Yamarino, and 16 great-grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Kenneth.

DOWDNEY ROBERT EDWARD passed away February 2, 2013, following a long battle with dementia. The son of Robert and Helen (Wolfe) Dowdney, he was born in 1929 in Detroit, Michigan, and retired to Gladwin, Michigan, after living for many years in Redford Township. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Charlene Dowdney, who lovingly cared for him until her death in 2009; and his son Daniel Robert Dowdney. He is survived by his daughter, Carol (Bob Lewis) Rosebrook, his son Michael (Jane) Dowdney, seven grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. Bob was an Army veteran and a longtime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who had an unlimited capacity to tell bad jokes until anyone cracked a smile. He taught his family to be safety conscious, to keep mosquitoes out of the house, and to appreciate British humor. His quiet kindness and dependability will be remembered by the many friends and family he assisted over the years. KORZON FRED age 89 of Bloomfield Township, passed away peacefully Saturday evening, February 16, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born January 1, 1924 in Detroit, Michigan to Minnie (Kreeger) and Adam Korzon. A proud veteran, he served in the US Air Force during World War II as a bombardier with the B-17 Flying Fortress. During that time, he fell in love with Ruth Mathiak, and proposed before he was shipped overseas to Italy. They were married on June 1, 1946 and shared 66 loving and devoted years together. After they were married, Ruth and Fred moved to rural Bloomfield Township where Fred pursued residential building and started a family. He was instrumental in the development of Fox Croft and Shorewood Hills. Having a need for greater intellectual involvement, at age 38 he earned his BA in philosophy while on the dean's list of the charter class of Oakland University, working full time and raising three children. He then earned his MA from the University of Michigan. Wishing to make a positive impact in the young lives of others, he became a humanities and history teacher at Pontiac Central High School and Bloomfield Hills Lahser High School. The apex of his career was serving the citizens of Bloomfield Township and maintaining its natural beauty - first as Trustee, then Treasurer and finally as Supervisor. He was Bloomfield Township Supervisor for 18 years and retired at the age of 75 in January 2000. During that time he sat on the board and was President of the South Eastern Michigan Council of Governments, the board of Oakland County Parks and Recreation and was an avid supporter of the Lutheran City Ministries. After his retirement he taught an honors course in Ethics and Morality at Lahser HS. Encouraging the intellectual development of young people was one of his passions. He lived a God-centered life focused on faith, family and high moral values. He was an active member of Our Shepherd Lutheran Church and later Cross of Christ Lutheran Church. He was also a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Leland, MI, where he built a beach front home and enjoyed his summers with his family. Fred cherished his beloved wife and family. He was a small plane pilot and an avid book reader, especially on the topics of Judeo-Christian values, the meaning of life and morality. Fred was always eager to share his books and humor with others. He traveled throughout the world with family and friends creating loving memories. He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth; children Tim (Sherry) Korzon of Ann Arbor, MI; Mark (Madelynn) Korzon of Suttons Bay, MI; and Deborah (Ron) Parker of Pagosa Springs, CO., his beloved granddaughters Kristal (Brian), Shanna (Ian), Marina, Natalie, Hilary (Steven) and Monica and great-grand children Ryder and Sloan. He was preceded in death by his brother Clarence Korzon. Friends and family may visit on Friday, March 8, 6-8pmat Cross of Christ Lutheran Church on Lone Pine and Telegraph in Bloomfield Township and are invited to a Memorial Service celebrating his life which will be held Saturday March 9 at 1pm at Cross of Christ officiated by Rev. She went to high school at Ferndale High School and graduated in 1945. She went on to earn a BA in Business in 1948 from Michigan State College of Agriculture and Applied Science (MSC), now known as Michigan State University (MSU). Marion was a mother and homemaker living with her husband of 64 years Willard. She enjoyed spending time with family, travel, current events, reading, knitting, skiing, MSU football and basketball, card and board games, and was a golf champion at Oakland Hills Country Club. Advanced planning was important to her. She spent summers in Port Elgin, Ontario, Canada and winters on Hutchinson Island, Stuart, Florida. Marion is survived by her husband Willard, son Andrew (Rebecca) Munro, daughter Martha Munro, daughter Mary (Jay) Kafarski, Barbara Hansen, grand-children Andrea Munro, Sarah Munro, and Jennifer Kafarski.
