Marjorie and George were married for 56 years. They were active members of the Slovene American Club for over 56 years. Marjorie preceded George in death and was cremated. HART BRIAN ALFRED of Shelby Township, Michigan and Bradenton, Florida passed away with family by his side on May 30th at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. Brian was born in Smith Falls, Ontario, Canada on July 27th, 1948. Prior to his job as Manager of Distribution for Cinetic Landis Corporation, Brian worked at Norton Company for 30 years, most recently as a Regional Sales Manager. He was also employed by the Central Collegiate Hockey Association, acting as the Director of Officials for nine years after a storied career as a referee. Brian's occupations took him all over the world. He frequently traveled to countries in Europe and Asia for his sales positions, and even refereed the World Hockey Championship in Austria. When he wasn't working, Brian enjoyed spending time with family and friends, golfing, shopping, cooking, boating, riding his motorcycles, and walking the beaches of Florida. Brian's charismatic personality, remarkable sense of humor, generosity, and loyalty made him a husband, father, and friend unparalleled by any other. Brian is survived by his wife, Beth; children, Brian, Randall, Bret, Lindsay, Lauren, and Sara; daughter-in-law Jennifer; and grandchildren Ryan, Alyssa, Kristine, and another due in January. He will forever be remembered in his family's HARTS. A celebration of Brian's life will take place in Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan on his birthday this year.

HIRSCH RICHARD J. "RICK" 87, May 25, 2013, formerly of Detroit Michigan, passed away in Crossville Tennessee. Rick was predeceased by his wife, Therese in 2004. He is survived by his five children, Kathleen (Michael) Coyle; Robert (Nancy) Hirsch; Nancy (Bob) Mollencopf, Terry (Cathleen) Hirsch; Michael (Janie) Hirsch; and his five grandchildren, Sarah (Kevin) Vanden Berge; Anne Hirsch; Nicole Mollencopf; Matthew Hirsch;and Jonathon Hirsch. Rick's brother, Ted and sister, Betty also predeceased him. World War II veteran, serving in the US Navy in the Pacific on the USS Houston. Rick worked in the auto industry for 40 plus years, for General Motors, Volkswagen of America and as a consultant for Purchase Parts Group. HOLLIS IRA CLADWELL JR. left this world May 30, 2013. He was born on August 1, 1942 to the late Ira C. Hollis Sr. and Texana C. Hollis in Detroit, MI. Ira joined the United States Air Force in 1960 and served with honor through 1965. Ira enjoyed singing doo wop music, bowling and photography. He was preceded in death by his father, Ira Sr. and brother, John Bethel Hollis. Ira leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Texana Calhoun Hollis; youngest brother Warren Travis Hollis; his daughters: Deborah Marie Hollis-Coburn, Karen Dawn Rones, Teri Michele Spaid, Lura Elise Hollis; his grandchildren: Vanessa Lynn Feist, Brandon Michael Hollis, Devyn Lindsy Coburn, Morgan Cassidy Coburn, Ryan Conor Coburn and one great-grandson, Demetrius Marquise Coburn-Cobb. He also leaves many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Ira C. Hollis Jr. was memorialized on June 4, 2013 at St. Philips Lutheran Church and was then laid to rest at Roseland Park Cemetery in Berkley, MI. He will be greatly missed.
HOLSTEIN LOUIS HILLMER, 84, of Grand Ledge, Michigan, formerly of Howell, died May 29, 2013 in Whitmore Lake. Louis was born March 19, 1929 in Ann Arbor, the son of George and Rose (Hillmer) Holstein. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed a special passion for horses. He worked at various ranches showing horses at auctions, training and breaking them, horseshoeing, as well as teaching riding lessons. He is survived by his sister, Saxie (Merlin) Heft of Canton. JACOBSEN LINDA 66, of Canton, Michigan passed away June 7, 2013. Linda was born in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Mary and Ambrose Bertalmio, and grew up with three siblings in Wheaton IL, where her father owned a carpet and upholstery cleaning business. She married her high school sweetheart in 1968 and moved throughout IL and MI before settling in Canton in 1977, where she was a devoted wife, a loving mother to her two children, a good friend to her neighbors and a loyal employee to Joseph Smulsky, DDS for over 25 years. Linda is survived by her husband, William V. Jacobsen, her daughter Sherri Jacobsen and her husband Keith McCormick, her son William V. Jacobsen Jr. and his wife Vanessa, and her granddaughter Paige. She also leaves behind a sister, Carol Smiricky of Sugar Grove, IL and a brother, Henry Bertalmio and his wife Nancy of Batavia, IL, along with nine nieces and nephews.
