ARNEY FRANKLIN J. Age 81, of Dearborn Heights, Michigan passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2012. Franklin was born and raised in Dearborn Township, MI. Franklin attended Arizona State University. He also served in the US Army in El Paso, Texas. Franklin was a developer of Manufactured Housing Communities. He also owned and operated a fine dining establishment called the Boar's Head Inn. In later years, he also developed a hunting preserve in Mio, Michigan, called Cherry Creek Farms. Franklin was an avid golfer and a life member at Dearborn Country Club. He also was Club Champion at Pipers Landing Country Club in Stuwart, Florida. Franklin's love of the outdoors led him to hunting and fishing excursions in Alaska, Colorado, New Foundland, Canada, Mexico, and the Bahamas. Franklin was the son of Alpha J. and Irene Arney and brother to Donald W. Arney. He will be greatly missed by his soul mate and wife Patricia of 60 years, his two sons, Mark and Jay, daughter Terri and his three grandchildren, Jason, Travis, and Taylor. Family and friends are invited to the Dearborn Country Club from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, October 28, 2012 for the celebration of the life of Franklin J. Arney. CALDWELL WILL M. Passed away on October 5, 2012 at the age of 86. He was born December 9, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan. On September 16, 1950 he married Jeanne Boren. Will retired in 1986 as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and a member of the Board of Directors for Ford Motor Company, after 33 years of service. After retirement from Ford, he served on the Board of Directors or Trustees for numerous companies and organizations, including Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., Bissell Inc., First National Bank, Zurich Holding Company of America, Inc., Harper-Grace Hospital, Detroit Medical Center, and Judson Center. Will took great pride in giving back to his alma mater, the University of Michigan, where he received both his undergraduate degree as well as his MBA. Will and Jeanne continued to show their support in a variety of ways, such as endowing a track scholarship in the athletic department, and making generous donations to the college of Literature, Science and Arts, the Music School, the Ross School of Business, and to the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center. He was a commissioned officer in the United States Navy where he served during the Korean War. Devoted husband, father and grandfather, Will is predeceased by his late wife of 60 years, Jeanne Boren Caldwell. He was the loving father of Elizabeth, Sarah and Martha, and proud grandfather of Emily, Peter, Laura, Beth, Katie, Tim, and Joe. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 9 at 11 a.m. at the Nie Family Funeral Home-Liberty Road Chapel, 3767 W. Liberty Rd., Ann Arbor. Surviving are her husband and sons Spencer, Scott and Cole all of Michigan, and her brother Robert Kierczynski of Ohio. Mrs. Clark a devoted mother, wife, and friend, was very active in many Southeastern Michigan Charities including Hospice, The Leukemia Society, the Boys and Girls Club, Red Cross, and the JP McCarthy Foundation to name a few. She and her husband Tom were honored as Co-Chair's of the Junior Diabetes Foundation "Evening of Brilliance" in 1990, the B'Nai Brith Great American Traditions Award the same year, and the Boys and Girls Club of SE Michigan "In Celebration" Award in 2000. He was an accomplished acoustical guitarist and pianist, collected and sold museum grade antiques, enjoyed golf, landscape design and care, and played basketball throughout his entire life. She graduated from Grosse Pointe High School in 1937 and worked at the J. L. Hudson, Co. She married Ronald Hoyles on September 3, 1949. She was best known for her love of knitting, crocheting, and needlepoint. She spent many years teaching others to enjoy those crafts. Also, she enjoyed bowling and golf, and was active in both until she was 80. In addition to her family, her greatest joy in her later years was her toy poodle, Annie. She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald in 1995.
