Over the years, he worked at Great Lakes Steel in Detroit, Owens Illinois in San Jose, Frontier Plumbing for his son-in-law in Redwood City and Smart Products in San Jose, as a Quality Control Manager. Following his retirement ,you could find him helping his daughter Lisa at her store, Menloville, in Menlo Park, as well as volunteering at the Veterans Memorial Senior Center in Redwood City. Richard loved fishing, camping, traveling to new places in his Winnebago, golfing, visiting Reno, cooking his famous "White Boy" Tacos for his family, family BBQ's, daily visits to Starbucks for his favorite drink-Grande Black Pike coffee, and fixing things. Rich, as his loved ones called him, was a true handy man and could fix just about anything. He was truly a walking repair manual, and enjoyed using his knowledge and expertise to help those close to him. Richard will always be remembered for the love, joy and continuous chuckles he brought to all those around him: his family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, fellow campers at his favorite RV park in Half Moon Bay and the wonderful group of people at the Veterans Memorial Senior Center where he volunteered every week.
