JOHN R. LUNDBERG

LUNDBERG JOHN R. of Detroit, died October 6, 2012, at Beaumont Hospital, Grosse Pointe, following a sudden illness. He was 49. John, son of Will and Carolyn Lundberg, was born in the Los Angeles area on July 3, 1963. He had two siblings; an identical twin, Eric, and brother Seth. The family resided in Missoula, Montana until moving to the city of Grosse Pointe in 1974 when John's father obtained a position at ANR Pipeline in Detroit. John attended The Grosse Pointe Academy and graduated from University of Detroit Jesuit High School. He earned both his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in journalism at Wayne State University. On August 27, 1994, John married Stacy Mizeres. They have one son, Nicholas, age 9. As a journalist, John worked as a staff writer for many years for the Grosse Pointe News, The Connection, CAM Magazine and was editor of the Pointer News. He was also a contributing writer for Grosse Pointe Magazine and the Legal News. John spent a majority of his time volunteering as a coach for Think Detroit and Eagle Sports. John enjoyed spending time with his wife and son, playing sports, reading, writing, fishing and cooking. He is survived by his wife, Stacy; son, Nicholas; brothers Eric and Seth; and aunts, uncles and cousins in Montana. A Memorial Service will be held in November at Christ Church Grosse Pointe. In lieu of flowers, contributions may by sent to the Nicholas Lundberg Education Fund c/o Stacy Lundberg.

REITZEL RUFUS H. JR. "BUD" Age 78, of Tampa, FL, passed away October 11, 2012, peacefully with loved ones. Beloved husband of Barbara, dear brother to Joan (Leo) Parnagian; dearest father of Lisa (Nathaniel) Bradley, James (Kathleen) Reitzel, Stacy James, Traecy (Darren) Brunner and Heather Lee Reitzel (predeceased); loving grandfather of Nathaniel Bradley, Quinn (Arthur) Getz, Chandler James, Ryelynn and Marla Brunner; loving great- grandfather of Henry and Lily Getz; dear step-father to Tonya and Anne Cook and step-grandfather to Jaclyn and Holly Buckley and Sara and Jacob Miller; loving uncle and good friend to many. Born in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, Bud graduated from Cranbrook School, attended Michigan State University and graduated from Wayne State University. He served his country in the U.S. Army, and was stationed in Ulm, Germany. Bud utilized his experience in the finance division of the Army to open Troy Finance in 1960. In 1962 he founded Lee Acceptance Co., an accounts receivable management company known today as Asset Acceptance and celebrating its 50th anniversary. As the Chairman and former CEO, he took Asset Acceptance public in 2004 before retiring in 2006. A pioneer of the debt purchasing industry, Bud's recognitions include Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, founding member and first president of the Asset Buyers Association and ACA International Honorary Membership. Bud loved hunting and fishing with his family and friends. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed boating on Lake St. Clair and Tampa Bay. He also loved music and played piano in a jazz band during his college years. A Funeral Service will be held at Blount & Curry Funeral Home, 605 S. MacDill Ave., Tampa, on Saturday, October 20th at 11:30 a.m. Visitation will occur two hours prior to the service on Saturday and from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday October 19th. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in Bud's memory to Tampa General Hospital Foundation, Palliative Care Program, PO Box 1289, Tampa, FL 33601.
