GLABACH FRANK C. Age 96 of Southfield passed away Friday, October 5, 2012. Beloved husband of the late Ruth. Loving father of Dale Glabach and G. Frank (Cynthia) Glabach. Dear brother of Robert Glabach. Proud grandfather of Jason, Ryan, Kacey, Amber, Alexis, Alisa, and Ace. In addition to being a former judge, for over 40 years Mr. Glabach was a well-regarded attorney, the minister of Divine Science Church of Practical Christianity in Birmingham, the owner of the now closed "Glabach's" modern art store in Berkley (one of Aretha Franklin's favorite shops), an avid tennis player, and a songwriter par excellence. In the early 1950s, he won the "Songs for Sale" competition. At his appearance on this national TV show, Frank shook hands and chatted with its legendary host, Steve Allen (who created the concept of "talk show" by later becoming the first MC of "The Tonight Show"). Then continuing the show, Frank's award-winning song "Mandolins Played in My Heart" was sung by early Capital Records recording star Margaret Whiting before a full orchestra with mandolins. The family will receive friends Thursday 2-8 pm at the Sawyer-Fuller Funeral Home, 2125 12 Mile Rd., Berkley (2 Blks. W. of Woodward). Funeral service will be Friday 1:00 pm at the funeral home. HENDERSON DR. HUGH WILLIAM, M.D. passed away on October 2, 2012 at the age of 90 years surrounded by family at his home in Lake Worth Florida. Loving father to Karole August, David (Deceased), Sandra (Stelios) Stylianou. Graduated Wayne State University Medical School 1947. Practiced Cardiology and Internal Medicine for 53 years in Detroit. Post residency for many years in Grosse Pointe. Former member GPYC, Lochmoor, Hunt Club, DYC and Grosse Pointe Senior Men's Society. Served in World War II and Korean War. Past president of WSU School Of Medicine Alumni Association. Initiated the Coronary Control Unit at SJH in the mid 1960's. Had the first patient in SJH when it opened its doors in 1952. Associate Professor WSU School Of Medicine for many years.
