AUDA ALEXANDER A., Age 86, of Milford, and formerly of Redford Twp., passed away in the care of his family October 21, 2012. Mr. Auda retired from Detroit Edison after 50 years and served 20 years as a Reserve Police Officer in Redford Twp., retiring as Lieutenant. Preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth "Betty" Auda. BAK WALTER M. "WALLY" Passed away on September 26, 2012 from a long battle with lung cancer. Beloved husband to Stacey (Orlanski). Brother of Ted (Carol). Uncle to Tom and Ryan, and cousin to Deanna and Barbara. Also survived by a wonderful friend, caregiver to Wally and daughter Kimberly and four beautiful grandchildren. He worked as an automotive engineer for over 30 years. He enjoyed classic car shows, watching and playing baseball, and most of all loved to talk and tell stories. More than anything he enjoyed helping others. Memorial Service October 27th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Church, 98 New St., Mt. Clemens. BALLARD CLYDE "Honey" was born May 1st, 1925 in Kentucky and died October 23rd, 2012. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Nata Lee Ballard, and four daughters, Debra, Susan (Leslie) Peterson, Dawn (Robert) Chism, Lisa (Phillip) Mailey. He is also survived by five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 25th, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Royal Oak. Interment will be at Great Lakes National Cemetary, Holly, MI.

KANTERS JOHN P. Age 81, October 20, 2012. Beloved husband of Mary Frances for 60 years. Dearest father of Karen (Gregory). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. John's entire career was dedicated to public service. Shortly after earning a master's degree from the University of Michigan he entered the U.S. Army and after discharge became a career Civil Service employee of the City of Detroit. After several years with the Budget Department as an analyst his special talents were recognized by Mayor Cavanagh who appointed him Budget Director. He continued to serve Mayor Gribbs and Mayor Young as the director of various departments throughout his career. Following a 35 year career his desire to serve continued even after retirement. He was elected to represent his fellow retirants on the Board of Trustees of the General Retirement System of the City of Detroit and was a member of the Board of Directors of the Detroit Retired City Employees Association. Upon relocating to Sterling Heights he became a member of the Property Tax Board of Review in that community. Funeral Friday 12 Noon at the A.H.
