ALLEN MARVIN of West Palm Beach, Florida, and Farmington Hills, Michigan, died on October 29 at the age of 94. Marvin was the beloved husband of Elaine Swade Allen for 68 years. Marvin and Elaine began their married life in California, where Marvin served for nearly four years as an Army Staff Sergeant during WWII. Marvin and Elaine came back to the Detroit area, he went on to earn a business degree from Wayne State University, and passed the CPA exam. He worked in the retail furniture business, and eventually became owner of his own upscale furniture store. Marvin is survived by his wife Elaine, his sons Bruce (Christine) and Richard (Trisha), and four grandchildren Marc, Brooke (Michael Kent), Rachel and David. Marvin was an avid fisherman, enjoyed tennis, golf and socializing with lifelong friends. He will be remembered for his humor, good nature, and as being a king and gentle soul. He will be missed.

BROOM PHILLIP P. Age 77, of Tecumseh, died Sunday, October 28, 2012 at home surrounded by his family. He was born October 9, 1935 in Detroit. Phillip is survived by his wife, Terri; two sons, Phillip (Laura) Broom, Jr. of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Fred (Tanya) Broom of Fortworth, Texas; a brother, Claude "Ed" (Joan) Broom; a sister, Harriett Baker of Waterford; one very special niece Claudia (John) Brown of Somersworth, New Hampshire; two grandchildren, Stephanie and Jacob, and many nieces and nephews. Phillip was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary and Barbara. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass for Phillip will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, November 3, 2012, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Tecumseh with Fr. Daniel Wheeler as celebrant.
