MARVIN  ALLEN

ALLEN MARVIN of West Palm Beach, Florida, and Farmington Hills, Michigan, died on October 29 at the age of 94. Marvin was the beloved husband of Elaine Swade Allen for 68 years. Marvin and Elaine began their married life in California, where Marvin served for nearly four years as an Army Staff Sergeant during WWII. Marvin and Elaine came back to the Detroit area, he went on to earn a business degree from Wayne State University, and passed the CPA exam. He worked in the retail furniture business, and eventually became owner of his own upscale furniture store. Marvin is survived by his wife Elaine, his sons Bruce (Christine) and Richard (Trisha), and four grandchildren Marc, Brooke (Michael Kent), Rachel and David. Marvin was an avid fisherman, enjoyed tennis, golf and socializing with lifelong friends. He will be remembered for his humor, good nature, and as being a king and gentle soul. He will be missed.

BROOM PHILLIP P. Age 77, of Tecumseh, died Sunday, October 28, 2012 at home surrounded by his family. He was born October 9, 1935 in Detroit. Phillip is survived by his wife, Terri; two sons, Phillip (Laura) Broom, Jr. of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Fred (Tanya) Broom of Fortworth, Texas; a brother, Claude "Ed" (Joan) Broom; a sister, Harriett Baker of Waterford; one very special niece Claudia (John) Brown of Somersworth, New Hampshire; two grandchildren, Stephanie and Jacob, and many nieces and nephews. Phillip was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary and Barbara. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass for Phillip will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, November 3, 2012, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Tecumseh with Fr. Daniel Wheeler as celebrant. JAROSIEWICZ ROBERT, age 74 passed away peacefully on Sunday October 28, 2012 at his home with his loving family at his side following a courageous battle with mesothelioma. He was born in Detroit on May 12, 1938 to the late John and Ann (Mroz) Jarosiewicz. He is survived by his wife the former Nan Burnell, whom he married January 7, 1985 in Roscommon. His children Robert Jarosiewicz and fiancée Julie Boylen, Denice and Joe Vitale, Sheryl and Mike Benchley and Donna Jarosiewicz; step-children James and Cheryl Wolkens and Jodi and Steve Young; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother Ronald Jarosiewicz. He was predeceased by a brother and sister-in-law John and Joan Jarosiewicz. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, November 2, 2012 at 11 a.m. from Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. ALOYSIUS BERNARD O'MARA

O'MARA ALOYSIUS BERNARD Age 92, of Blissfield, was welcomed into God's Heavenly Kingdom on Monday, October 29th at his home surrounded by his loving family. Aloysius Bernard was born at home in Wallaceburg, Ontario, Canada on April 8, 1920, the youngest child of John and Margaret (Johnston) O'Mara. He was the only member of his family to attend college and received his Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctorate from the University of Detroit. On September 6, 1944, Aloysius married Rita Adeline Schutz in Detroit, Michigan. In 1948 Aloysius was admitted to the Michigan Bar and began his practice of law in downtown Detroit, Michigan before moving to rural Blissfield, Michigan where he developed an extensive legal practice. During his distinguished career Aloysius successfully litigated cases before the United States Supreme Court and Michigan Supreme Court. Aloysius served in the Army Air force as a Sergeant during World War II. He was an active member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church where he served as a proud member of the Knights of Columbus for 25 years. He was a member of the Blissfield Rotary Club for 30 years and a life-long member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. Aloysius was preceded in eternal life by Rita, his loving wife of over 65 years. Aloysius is survived by his children: Michael and wife Eva O'Mara of Cleveland, Dr. Kevin O'Mara of Phoenix, Arizona; Mark O'Mara of Blissfield; Patrick and wife Carolyn O'Mara of New York; and Maureen O'Mara of Ann Arbor; and one grandson, Patrick Brendan O'Mara. Aloysius was preceded in death by his siblings: Joseph, James, Patrick, Eileen, Helen and Angela. The Mass of the Christian Burial for Aloysius will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 1st, 2012 at Light of Christ Catholic Parish, St. Peter the Apostle Church with Fr. Thomas Helfrich officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery.
