SOVA MICHAEL J. "BIKER MIKE" Age 53, of Cheboygan, passed away Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Carpenter's Adult Foster Care Home in Cheboygan. A resident of the area since 1981, moving from Westland, Mike was born July 20, 1958 in Wayne, the son of Richard and Sheila (Fitzgerald) Sova. He was a 1984 graduate of the special education program at Inverness School, and was an excellent carpenter, taking pride in all of his Craftsman tools and ladders. One of Mike's greatest loves was riding his bike throughout Cheboygan County. He wore out many bikes over his thousands of miles of travel which included wintertime. Two of his bikes were presented to him by the Westland Police and Fire Departments for his caring and contributions to the city of Westland. He was also a very caring and giving man, always wanting to help everyone. His hobbies included riding his bike, visiting friends, helping local contractors and others in the community, bowling, playing softball, and swimming, snowmobiling, and cutting firewood. He was also a connoisseur of music and a great photographer. Mike was also an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers and attended many games at Tiger Stadium and Comerica Park. He always looked forward to his birthday and made sure everyone knew when his birthday was, he also loved giving and receiving presents at Christmas. He was preceded in death by a niece, Autumn Sova.
