His thirty-three years of teaching were at St. Francis de Sales High School, Detroit; Redford High School, Detroit; and Southfield High School, Southfield (29 years) from which he retired in 1996. Kim made significant contributions to Big Brothers/ Big Sisters, the Americans with Disabilities movement, the domestic violence shelter she volunteered for, and she introduced her family to the Huntington's Disease Society of America.
