President of Transit Mixed Concrete Institute of Detroit (1952-1953, 1955-1977) and the Construction Association of Michigan (1967-1968). Member of Michigan Trucking Association, Board of Governors (1958-1963) and American Trucking Association, Board of Directors (1961-1963). John was President of Cooper Van Dyke Associates, Inc., (1970-1995), Fellow Financial Analysts Federation, Institute of Financial Analysts Society of Detroit (President, 1980-1981), Chairman of Conduct/Ethics Committee (1988-1998). FANTIN MARY L. (NEE MORUZZI) longtime resident of River Rouge, died on November 28, 2012 at the age of 88. Mary was born on April 26, 1924 in Butler, Pennsylvania to Santo and Luigia Moruzzi. Her family moved to Michigan when she was a young girl. She graduated from River Rouge High School and went on to Business School. After finishing Business School, she became a secretary and administrative assistant for the River Rouge School District and the Board of Ed. She was a member of the former St. Francis Xavier Church in Ecorse, River Rouge Senior Group, Fogolar Furlan Club, River Rouge Business Professional Women and earlier in life she worked for the WWII draft board. Her husband Attilio preceded her in death in 1991 as well as her brother Fred Moruzzi. GOODMAN ELIZABETH (BETTY) Was born May 20, 1925. She was married to her husband Gilbert for 22 years and they raised six children. She earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Wayne State University and taught second grade at Monnier School in the City of Detroit for 25 years. Betty received several awards for excellence in teaching and loved teaching her young students to read. She passed on her love of books and literature to her children as well as many of her students. Betty was also a talented artist working as a sculptor and as a painter; her work was shown in several local exhibitions. She also enjoyed spending time outdoors and was an avid camper and was called "Grandma Camper" by many who knew her. Betty is survived by her children Elizabeth (and George) Smojver, Gilbert (and Cathy) Goodman, Penny (and Craig) Perry, Carol Kitchen, Patricia (and Robert) Oates, Ron Bugaj, ten grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter Jean Bugaj, and grandson Andy Smojver. A private memorial will be held at a future date. GRECCO JOSEPH ROBERT Son of the late Joseph Thomas Grecco of Calopezzati, Cosenza and the late Eleanor Jane Dore of New Haven, Connecticut passed away at his home on November 20, 2012. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Lois Copple Grecco of Centralia, Illinois and his sister the late Sarah Raccio Grecco of Bethany, Connecticut. He is survived by his son David Anthony Grecco of Austin, Texas from a prior marriage to the former Carolyn Marie Velardi of Hamden, Connecticut. HENDERSON CORINNE G. of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2012, at Hope Hospice, in Fort Myers, Florida, after a long period of declining health. She was 76. Corny, as she was known to her friends, was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1936, to Bena and Art Groscop, and still keeps many friends in the Detroit area. She was a graduate of Kingswood/Cranbrook Girls High School in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, and later graduated from the University of Michigan. It was at the University of Michigan where she met and married Robert (Bob) Henderson. Together, they brought their two sons into the world, Frederick Arthur "Fritz" Henderson, and Douglas Lawrence "Doug" Henderson. To her last day, Corny took great pride in how her two sons became loving husbands and fathers. Corny enjoyed a wide social circle, with friends reaching as far away as California, Massachusetts, Washington and Texas. After moving to Florida in 1995, she continued her many volunteer and social activities, including her work at the Pink Bazaar at Lee Memorial Hospital, her involvement in the Fort Myers PEO organization, and the Garden Club. It was in Florida where she met her long time companion, John Tatu. Corny is survived by her son Fritz, her daughter-in-law Karen, and her two granddaughters Sarah and Emily; and by her son Doug, her daughter-in-law Jane, and her grandson Bobby and granddaughter Stephanie. She was preceded in death by her parents, Art and Bena, as well as her daughter Sarah. To honor Corny's life, a Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 8th, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1800 W. Maple Road, Birmingham, Michigan. JEZIORSKI JEROME C. "JERRY" Age 70, passed away after battling brain cancer on November 22, 2012 in Rapid River, MI where he resided after retirement. Born on December 18, 1941 in Detroit, MI to Edward and Helen (Kwiatkowski) Jeziorski. Jerry graduated from St. Stephen's High School in Port Huron, MI and then attended Rets Electronics School in Detroit, MI. He worked in the tool and die business for several years as a machinist, and he owned The Cut River Restaurant in Higgins Lake, MI for 12 years. Jerry was an active 3rd and 4th degree member of The Knights of Columbus in Roscommon, MI. Jerry was a true outdoorsman, finding much pleasure in fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, and his yard-work. Jerry married Rosemary (Konkel) on November 9, 1963. Jerry is survived by his wife, Rosemary; daughter, Jill Cannon (Ryan); brother, Lawrence Jeziorski (Donna); Sister, Kathleen Esdale; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Edward (1996) and Helen (1998); also by his brother Dennis (1969). The funeral mass will be Thursday, December 6, 2012 at 10 a.m. by Fr.
