REPP JOYCE D. age 88 of Grayling, formerly of Garden City, MI, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at Mercy Manor in Grayling, MI. Joyce was born on July 14, 1923 in Highland Park, Michigan to Leon and Beulah (Lantz) LaMotte. She married Vurrel Repp and they raised their family in Garden City, MI. She devoted her life to her family; they were her joy. She enjoyed spending summer in Hale, MI and wintering in Bonita Springs, FL. Surviving are her children: Carol (Jim) Rebant, formerly of Garden City, MI; Cheryl (Richard) Piendzia of Garden City, MI; Barbara (Henry) Cholewa of Roscommon, MI; and Donna (Brian) Nowka formerly of Garden City, MI; her brother Gerald (Luanne) LaMotte of Garden City, MI; nine grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 51 years Vurrel Repp; and her brothers: Donald, Jack, and Keith LaMotte. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. SCAIFE LEWIS EVERETT, III, was a dedicated family man, and a "man's man" to all of his friends and coworkers. He dreamed as a child to travel to all the places he read about in history. As an adult, his goal was to set foot on every continent. He traveled with his wife and accomplished his goal. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War with active duty and reserve service. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Vietnam Campaign Medal. He worked 36 years at Ford Motor Company, where he was a hydraulic repairman, and an activist for safety and equal opportunity for pay in the workplace. He pursued genealogy after his retirement in 2007 and was very successful in uncovering his family tree back to the 1890s. His survivors include his wife, Sherry; daughter, Alexis McDaniel; son, Lewis Scaife, IV; and three grandchildren. Mr. Scaife died June 28, 2012.
