LAAJALA WILLIAM ("BILL") KENNETH 88, passed away May 12, 2012 in Clio, MI. William was born on August 15, 1923 to John William and Elvira (Berg) Laajala in Detroit, MI. He proudly served in WWII as a pilot in the U.S. Navy and was employed by Ford Motor Company for many years. He was the owner of the Bayview Motel in Escanaba, MI. Bill married Jeanne Beverly Baumgartner on July 11, 1948. They retired to Marco Island Florida where he enjoyed boating, fishing and gardening before returning to Michigan in 1992. He will be greatly missed by his children; Gary (Barb) Laajala of Escanaba, Keith (Gina) Laajala of Fenton, Brian (Joanne) Laajala of Southfield, Gayle (Daniel) Richter of Lapeer, and Karen Cameron of Flint. Grandchildren; Noah Laajala, Chelsea Richter, Danielle Richter, Shane Richter, Cayce Cameron, Carey (Justin) Gavlinski , and Kevin Kugler. Great-Grandchildren; Haleigh, Caelyn and Colton. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Betty Tikka, and his beloved wife Jeanne.
