FOX MARK R., Okemos, Michigan. Born on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 1953, in Fulton, New York to Herman and Marilyn Fox, Mark passed away unexpectedly on June 22, 2011 and will be sadly missed by his loving family, friends and colleagues. Mark was a partner in and immediate past president of Fraser Trebilcock Davis & Dunlap law firm in Lansing, Michigan, where he began his legal career nearly 25 years ago. Mark will be remembered for loyalty, wit, courage, compassion and determination. Following his graduation from the University of Vermont, Mark enjoyed stints as a radio reporter and print journalist, later establishing his own political consulting firm in East Lansing, Michigan. Thereafter, he attended the Thomas M. Cooley Law School, where he received his J.D. cum laude. In addition to his passion for the law, Mark had a lifelong interest in politics. He worked on many political campaigns across the U.S., in national, state and local elections from Alaska to Vermont. He was a trusted adviser to numerous elected officials, and was appointed to the State Ethics Board by then Governor Granholm. Mark had an encyclopedic knowledge of modern political history. He was an avid reader of non-fiction biographies and historical books. Mark enjoyed music and was a huge Bob Dylan fan. Above all else, Mark was a proud father and devoted husband. Being a dad was truly his most important accomplishment. He enjoyed spending his free time with his family, attending his children's soccer games, traveling, and watching movies. Mark is survived by his wife of 19 years, Anita Fox; his children, Tyler, Meredith and Gregory; brother, Craig Fox of Burlington, Vermont; sister, Karen Fox of Birmingham, MI; sister-in-law, Lynne (Ken) Page; brothers-in-law, Glen (Gail) Raby and Mark Raby; mother-in-law, Barbara Raby; nephew, Kyle Page; nieces, Shannon Raby and Dana Page; and godsons, Andres, Diego and Sergio Acevedo, who were like sons to him. JOHNSON ROSELLA PAULINE Age 86, of E 4717 M-35, Escanaba (Ford River), passed away Saturday, June 18, 2011, at her home in Ford River. She was born June 30, 1924, in Hubbell, Mich., and was the daughter of Henry and Roseanna (Chaput) Perreault. Rosella graduated from Lake Linden High School in 1942 and married James W. Johnson on June 26, 1945, in Hubbell, Mich. Together they lived in Detroit until they purchased Sandy Shores Resort in Ford River and moved to Ford River in April of 1972. James preceded Rosella in death on May 1, 1995. Rosella loved her work of running and maintaining Sandy Shores Resort. This year marked the start of their 40th year of running the resort and she considered the guests at Sandy Shores to be her extended family. Rosella was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church and was a great supporter of the Knights of Columbus. Rosella loved to travel and go on cruises with her family. Rosella Pauline Johnson is survived by: sons, Dennis (Suzanne) Johnson of Holly, Mich., James (Fanny) Johnson of Clarkston, Mich., Jerome (Claudia) Johnson of Fort Collins, Colo.; daughter, Rose (John) Weber of Escanaba; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; special friend, Macella Filteau of Ford River; several nieces and nephews. WIDGREN THEODORE R. Age 92. A resident of Royal Oak for 65 years, died June 22, 2011 at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. He was born January 6, 1919 in Detroit. Mr. Widgren was the owner of Widgren's Barber Shop in Royal Oak, which was used for the barber shop scenes in Clint Eastwood's recent movie, Gran Torino.
