BAKER JOHN RALPH Age 67, of Wyandotte, Michigan died unexpectedly on July 8, 2012 at home. Mr. Baker was an icon in the local entertainment business with a career that spanned over 50 years. He was recently named a music legend in the area. One of his most popular bands was Moby Dick and the Whalers. He performed in hundreds of venues around Detroit and across the country including The Brass Rail in Detroit. In addition to his performing he was a prolific song writer and continued to perform until his death. One of his fondest memories was performing in a battle of the bands contest against Michael Jackson and the Jackson Five. He was preceded in death by his parents Buddy and Donie (Wright) Baker. He is survived by his sister, Nelda (Clare) Baker Coxey of Bessemer, MI and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at the R. J. CARRON WILFRED "BILL" of Clinton Twp. born December 7, 1951 found his eternal rest on July8th. Although his death was sudden, he was surrounded by the love and devotion of his family and friends. His military career began during the Vietnam War when he enlisted in the Air Force. He spent 30 years as an aircraft technician at Selfridge ANGB, where he retired in 2006. An avid golfer, Bill participated in many local leagues and was a dedicated Lions Club member.His passions were family, faith, friends, and sports. Bill was a quiet hero who gave generously and never demanded attention for his selfless service. LEE AMBIA "GAYLE" (COFFMAN) LEE Age 95, of Covington, passed away at 1:35 am Monday July 9, 2012 at The Waters of Covington. She was born November 20, 1916 in Veeders-burg to the late James Philip and Lula Ellen (Crawford) Butts. She married David H Coffman in Jerseyville, IL, September 1936; he preceded her in death in 1991. She married Robert E. Lee of Kansas in 1992 and he survives. Gayle attended Veedersburg Schools, and had worked in the shipyards at Beaumont, Texas during WWII. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, the Red Hat Society, the KIT Club, and was a member of the Sterling Christian Church. Gayle had lived in Wayne, Michigan from 1952-1976, but spent most of her life in Fountain County, Indiana. She is survived by her daughter, Carol (John) Brock, Lafayette, IN; a brother, Carl Butts, Veedersburg; three grandchildren, Jonathan (Kelly) Miller, Ann Arbor, Michigan; Aaron Miller and Jacob Miller, both of Lafayette, as well as two great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Mearns and James Butts, and two sisters, Ina France and Shirley Butts.
