ALDRIDGE ANN PATRICIA (MOYER) November 10, 2012. Fought a courageous battle against breast cancer. Ann was born in Detroit, Michigan and graduated from St. Francis de Sales school. She had an insatiable zest for life, and never allowed even the worst of life's challenges to defeat her. She loved her family and friends, especially grandson, Kallen. Annie was loved by all. She is survived by her loving husband David, son Michael (Brandy), grandson Kallen, siblings Bill (Jan) Moyer, Steve (Yvonne) Moyer, Maureen Moyer (Marilyn Waxberg). Ann leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Ann was preceded in death by son Billy. A memorial service will take place in December. CARENE NICHOLAS "NICK" JR., 74, of New Baltimore, Michigan, suddenly passed away, Friday, November 9. He's survived by his loving wife, Suzanne; daughters Cynthia (Dan) Mendenhall and Christina (Tommy) Doran, son Nicholas Carene, stepdaughter Elizabeth Wilkins; siblings, Gail (Bob) Mitchell, Diane (Ed) Klobucher, Denise Carene, Victor (Lorraine) Brierley, sister-in-law Elaine Carene; grandchildren Lucy Doran and Michael J. Mendenhall; and dog Fabio. His extended family included many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, all whom he adored. He was preceded in death by parents Nicholas and Betty Carene, brother Jim, and son Nicky (5). Nick was born on June 28, 1938 in Royal Oak, raised in Hazel Park and graduated from Hazel Park High in 1956. He retired in 2004 from Nachi America after a successful career as an Engineer/General Sales Mgr. Nick treasured his family and also enjoyed boating and sports, playing hockey until he was 56. He was an avid car enthusiast/collector, completing his muscle car this summer and driving it in the multi-state Hot Rod Power Tour. Nick's sister Denise was born with Down Syndrome and was his inspiration to join the Water Warriors (Special Olympics). He was a member of the Water Warriors for 20 years, participating in many fundraising activities, including an annual jet-ski endurance ride in Lake Huron. He was the oldest member to complete the 350-mile trip, and the only person to complete the entire ride on a stand-up machine. Nick had a passion for life, was a charming, energetic, hard-working, fun-loving man, and will be forever missed by all who knew him.
