ESAU CARL RICHARD was born April 8, 1924 in Greenleaf, Michigan. He was called to leave his family twice, first for the US Army and then for the US Air Force. He earned his college degree from Wayne State University in Michigan. He married Doris Marie Schmidt on May 22, 1954. They shared their lives together in Michigan for over 45 years. Carl then transitioned to Venice, Florida. Carl had several passions in life; his family, friends, playing cards, helping those in need and of course supporting The University of Michigan. He worked as a controller for McIntosh Stamping Corporation in Michigan. Carl remained very active and especially enjoyed being involved in his community until he departed this life on February 24, 2012. We have been blessed to have him in our lives. SINGH DR. PRITAM age 71, professional engineer and educator, passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2012. He was the dearly beloved husband of 46 years to Gurinder Kaur Singh; devoted father of three daughters, Jasmine, Gitanjli and Romica; adored grandfather of William, Jack, Rena, Rukmini, Annika and Simran; a cherished son; and a treasured brother, uncle and friend to many. Dr. Singh was originally from Punjab, India, and attended and taught at the University of Roorkee (now IIT Roorkee) in Uttarakhand,India. He earned a Ph.D, P.E. in civil engineering at the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor. A resident of Canton, Michigan for over 30 years, Dr. Singh was a dedicated member of the community, through religious, alumni and civic organizations. He lived his life with boundless and unconditional love for his family; a great mix of superb intellect and humor; humility and devoutness; charm and dignity; integrity and warmth. STEVENS JAMES E. 78, of Shelby Township and a Marshall, Michigan native, died February 18 after a five month fight with encephalitis caused by West Nile Virus. Mr. Stevens co-founded the Macomb Audubon Society and was a 20 year Michigan Audubon Society board member. He built and installed 200 bluebird boxes at Stony Creek Park and maintained them for 40 years. A 16 year volunteer with the U.S. Forrest Service, he helped track and manage endangered Kirtland's Warblers in northern Michigan. He served on the board of the Seven Ponds Nature Center in Dryden, where he helped construct the original nature center and trails. He volunteered with the Shelby/Utica Recycling Center since the 1970s. Active in the Southern Michigan Daylily Society, Mr. Stevens was a daylily hybridizer. An electrical engineer at General Motors for 31 years, he held degrees from the University of Michigan (bachelor's) and Wayne State (master's). He is survived by wife Carolyn, daughter Gwen Springer-Beskin (David), stepsons Scott Bryson Jr. (Carrie) and Craig Bryson (Maria), 11 grandchildren and many friends. He was predeceased by daughter Nancy Stevens. A memorial service will be March 3, 11 a.m. (luncheon following), at the Romeo Methodist Church, 280 N. Main Street, Romeo.

Hramiec Donald Walter Resident of Livermore, CA Donald, 76, died of heart and lung complications on February 26, 2012 with his wife and children at his side. He was born March 1, 1935 in Hamtramck, MI. He is survived by Elizabeth, his wife of 49 years, and three children Alex (Denise), Clare (Matt) and Peter (Robin). He is the loving grandfather of Raquel, Caroline, Justin, Jack, Andrew and Cate. He became a member of the Knights of Columbus in 1960. He was a vocal advocate of UAW Local 6000. MARSHALL MARY H. Age of 96 of Brighton, MI passed away on February 29, 2012. Mary was born on December 19, 1915 in Akron, OH, to Anthony Albrecht and Theresa (Helftner) Albrecht. She married Elmer (Slim) McCelland in 1942 he died in 1946. On October 30, 1948 Mary wed George W. Marshall (of Mackinaw City) in Detroit, MI and had two loving daughters. Her husband George and daughter Karen preceded her in death. She is survived by daughter Kathy (Bob) Chapman, four grandchildren, Ann Hackman, Christine Smith, Joseph Pistolesi and Jim Chapman, and 8 great grandchildren: Jacob, Emma, Lily, Thomas, Noah, Grace, Hunter and Kayla. Mary will be remembered by many and was loved by all. She volunteered at the V.A. Hospital in Ann Arbor, The American Red Cross blood drive and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Brighton. She was an active member of St. Patrick Parish and served as President of the St. Patrick Council of Catholic Women. Mary was an amazing scrabble player and loved playing cards.
