JOHNSON HELEN DOLORES passed peacefully into eternal rest on Monday, February 20, 2012 in Southfield, Michigan. She is pre-deceased by her parents, Arthur and Corinne (Schneider) Johnson and her only sibling, Arthur Johnson, Jr. After retiring from the Dearborn Michigan School System as a Physical Education teacher, Helen divided her time between Florida, Dearborn and Oxley Beach, Ontario, Canada. Her last home was in Henry Ford Village in Dearborn. Helen was a lifelong excellent athlete, playing on an early women's baseball team and an international field hockey team. Golf and swimming were her retirement sports. Genealogy and anything related to Charles Schultz cartoon characters were her greatest interests. She was a world traveler and learned German in order to pursue family genealogy research. Interment will be with her family in Colchester, Ontario, Canada.

McCRIMMON RAYMOND 67, of Glendale Arizona passed away on March 1, 2012. Services for Ray were held March 9th. Ray was Born in Windsor Ontario, Canada and later moved to Detroit Michigan. He became a US citizen when he joined the US Navy to fight in the Vietnam War. Ray served in the Navy for 4 years and received an honorable discharge in 1968. He then became a Detroit Police Officer and started a family by marrying his high school sweetheart Irene Tortomasi. Ray and Irene had three children Tracy, Scott and Wendy. He is survived by his mother Gladys, brother Jim, children Tracy, Scott and Wendy, as well as 10 grandchildren. He retired from the Detroit Police department and moved out West to Boulder City Nevada and then on to Phoenix Arizona where he lived out the rest of his days.

OPLAND WILLIAM O. (HUMPY) of Lac La Belle and Perry, Michigan on March 4, 2012 Age 94, went to be with his heavenly Father after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Duluth, Minnesota on April 15, 1917, the oldest son of William and Ingeborg Opland. In 1930 Bill's family moved to Calumet, MI where he was confirmed in the Norwegian Lutheran Church. He loved sports and played football, hockey, baseball and track in Calumet and was a 2-time captain of the Calumet High football team. After graduation in 1936, he moved to Detroit where he was employed with Ford Motor Company for 37 years. He met a registered nurse, Elma Harri (the love of his life), and they were married on July 4, 1942. During World War II, he served as a medic with the Army in the Aleutian Islands for 27 months. He later became a 2nd Lieutenant. Following the war, Bill and Elma raised their family in Livonia before retiring to their cabin at Lac La Belle in the U.P. They loved hosting their grandkids at the lake by taking them fishing, berry picking and sightseeing. Bill was loved and will be greatly missed. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife Elma of 61 years; and two brothers, Robert and Kenneth. Surviving are his two sons William (Mary) of Haslett and Donald of Perry; two daughters, Ann (Cal) Fox of Holland and Carol (Ralph) Sesso of Barrington Hills, IL; 9 grandchildren, Jeff (Heather) Fox, Doug (Christen) Fox, Kristyn (Jon) Brown, Katie (Dan) Dahlke, Jon (Brie) Sesso, Jill and David Sesso and Martha and Marie Opland; 6 great-grandchildren, Lydia, Tabitha, Miriah, Raegan, Cade and Ella; and several nieces and nephews. SAVAGE LARRY Age 67, of Dearborn Heights, Michigan, lost his courageous battle with esophageal cancer on March 7, 2012. Larry was born in Altus, Oklahoma on October 4, 1944, and grew up in Arvada, Colorado. Larry was married to his high school sweetheart and loving wife, Irene, for over 43 years. Larry is survived by his wife, two beautiful daughters, Jennifer and Melissa, and two adorable grandsons, Bridger and Cannon. Also, his father Marlon, step-mother Willie Mae, loving siblings, Jan, Gayle, and Beverly, and many loving nieces, nephews, and other family.
