EDEN MORTON A. Died peacefully in Santa Cruz, California on January 21, 2011. He was 95. Mort lived in Detroit for 71 years, until the fall of 2008 when he moved to California to be closer to his family. He remained active dancing and walking by the Monterey Bay until several months before his death. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 61 years, Naomi, and is survived by two daughters, Lynn (Ruth Schoenbach) and Eve (former husband Josh Karter); two grandchildren, Alia Karter and Noah Karter; his brother Bernard's three children, Allen Adinoff, Bryon Adinoff, Cheri Adinoff Rubin; and his brother Joseph's two children, Jan Adinoff Gordon and Pam Adinoff. A graduate of the University of Michigan and University of Michigan Law School in the midst of the Great Depression (he worked his way through as the food buyer for an eating co-op), Mort first earned a living wage when he joined the office of the general counsel to the United Auto Workers, headed by the legendary Maurice Sugar. Eden served as a private first class in the Army in World War II. In 1950, Eden joined George W. Crockett, Jr., Ernest Goodman, and Dean A. Robb in the first racially integrated law partnership in the country (Goodman, Crockett, Eden, and Robb). Later, the firm was known as Goodman, Eden, Millender & Bedrosian. FROST ROBERT J. Age 85, February 11, 2011. Beloved son of the late Benjamin Shipp Frost and the late Ethel Ann Westbrook Frost. Also preceded in death by sister and brother-in-law Margaret E. and John M. Klock, as well as his niece Alice Klock. He is survived by his nephews John B., James W. and Eric P. Klock. Robert retired from Graphite Product Corp. after 30 years. He was a 30 year member of the Detroit Yacht Club, an ardent supporter of the Detroit Symphony and Detroit Opera Theater, as well as a member of Mariner's Church. He was an experienced traveler of Europe and the U.S. Robert was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during WWII, and will be buried with Military Honors Tuesday, February 22, 11 a.m. at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd., Holly. Von Szymerowski GEORGE, 87 years, made his transition on February 9, 2011 in Virginia Beach General Hospital, Virginia Beach, Virginia. He resided in Virginia Beach for the past eight years. GREEN HOWARD JACK 85, of Canton, MI, recently Jupiter, FL, passed away February 15, 2011. He was born to the late Howard J. and Mary M. Green, November 17, 1925, in Wheeling, WV. He served in the Military, attended Carnegie Tech., and retired from Hydra-Matic. He was a member of the Masons and enjoyed golf and bowling. Jack is survived by daughters Henrietta, Joan, Carol, Kari and Margie and step sons Don, Terry, David and Bryan; 26 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, along with many other loving family and friends.
