JANEWAY CORNELL Cornell Janeway was a naval officer in World War II and sailed in the south pacific as well as being an avid sailor in his private life. Cornell graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in mechanical engineering. He owned and operated Janeway Engineering Co., an automotive testing laboratory in Troy, MI. He holds several U.S. patents in automotive engine design and was an active member for 50 years of the Society of Automotive Engineers. He was the beloved husband of Betty Jo Goldman Janeway and the late Barbara Brenner Janeway, cherished father of Karen (David) Davis, Dr. David (Kimberly) Janeway and the late Michael Janeway, loving grandfather of Robert Janeway, dear brother of Joyce (Richard) Mittenthal. He is also survived by Betty Jo's children: Peter (Karen) Goldman and Marne (John) Schwedler and their children, Laura (Brad) Polega, Jay (Dorothy) Schwedler and Megan Schwedler; proud great grandfather of Laken and Brynn Polega and John Edward Schwedler.
