NEVILLE THERESA A. Age 89, of Auburn Hills passed away on December 1, 2011. She was born on August 27, 1922 in Detroit, Michigan. A graduate of Marygrove College, she was a Detroit Public School teacher (Maybee Elementary School) for many years and also taught the elementary grades in several Detroit Catholic schools (Holy Innocents Academy, Precious Blood School, Presentation School, and St. Gemma School). She loved teaching. Her other interests included antiques, art, genealogy, jewelry, literature, music, tennis and travel. Theresa had particularly fond memories of her childhood in Houghton, Michigan, summers in pre-Castro Cuba and her one trip to England. Her family history in the United States dates back to pre-revolutionary times. First and foremost a great mother to her daughters, Barbara also had an impeccable flair for fashion, a gift of spontaneous creativity and a keen artistic sense. She was a 1952 graduate of Redford High School. While living in the Detroit area with first husband Wes Bearden, she was an art representative with Skidmore Sahratian Inc. in Troy. Barbara's joie de vivre was unparalleled; her eye for interior design was sought by many. She was feisty, vivacious and unforgettable. Her luminous smile and infectious personality will never be forgotten. A gathering of her friends and family took place at The Field Club in Sarasota, where she was a member. In February, a celebration of Barbara's fabulous life will take place around the Valentine Day's holiday. She will always be remembered as a hearts-and-angels kind of gal. VANDE KIEFT WILLIAM Age 91, went to be with the Lord November 29, 2011. Survived by Dottie Longwish, his loving friend and companion of 45 years and her children Laura (Kent) Wallace, Bob (Jeanne) Longwish, Vicki Seach and grandpa to Jillian Seach. There were three children by his former wife Helen, Joe (Anita) Vande Kieft and the late Dirk and Kathleen. Also survived by grandchildren Christopher and Elizabeth. Brother of Henry (Millie) Vande Kieft and the late Margaret (Logan) Vanderzyl. Bill retired from Ford Motor Company, General Motors and was a WWII Navy pilot. One of his greatest pleasures was fishing. His family and friends called him "The Walleye". He loved Ward Presbyterian Church and the many friends he met there. VERCRUYSSE DONALD St. Clair Shores, Michigan Activity on the water was Donald "Don" Vercruysse's life. "Everything with him was about being on the lake," laughed his wife of 48 years, Susan. "If he wasn't fishing, he was hunting, boating and in his younger years sailing or ice boating competitively." Having grown up on Lake St. Clair he knew the waters intimately. The phone would often ring before 7 am with friends asking for advice as to where to fish. He never ventured far from Lake St. Clair. After a brave, yearlong battle with cancer, Donald Addison Vercruysse, died at home, with family and his extended family of close friends by his side, on November 25, 2011 at age 76. Born October 19, 1935, in St. Clair Shores, he attended LakeShore High School and University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Upon receiving his Bachelor of Science degree and four years later his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree, he married Susan "Suzy" Skarstad on April 6, 1963. They moved to Ankara, Turkey with the Air Force and then returned home to St. Clair Shores where he opened his own dental practice. He retired after 35 years of practicing dentistry in December 2000 and spent his time not only on the water but with his wife, three children, seven grandchildren and wonderful, loyal friends. Don is survived by his wife, Suzy; children, Paula (Stan) Sokolowski of Connecticut, Elizabeth (Steve) Haley of Macomb and Don (Debbie) Vercruysse Jr of Grosse Pointe; seven grandchildren and brother, Robert (Cindy) Vercruysse. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roger and Mildred Vercruysse, and his brother, Roger Vercruysse Jr. of St. Clair Shores, Michigan. A memorial service will be held at Bayview Yacht Club, 100 Clairpointe Street, Detroit, on Saturday, December 10, 2011, from 11 am 2 pm. In lieu of flowers the family has designated the Brain Tumor Research Fund, University of Michigan, Department of Neurology, 1914 Taubman Center, 1500 East Medical Center Drive, Ann Arbor, MI 48109-5316.

WERLINGER VIOLA MAE 83, of Livonia passed away on December 2, 2011 at her home in the care of her family. Viola was born on March 29, 1928 in Jenkins, MN to Clair and Edna (nee Rush) Newton. She came to Detroit in 1944 where she met Peter Werlinger. They married in 1946. She is survived by her children Patt (Bill) Brown, Pamela Bruner and Robert (Brenda).
