ALDRIDGE THOMAS FREDERICK of Greenville, South Carolina, beloved husband of Jean Reid Aldridge for 51 years, passed away March 20, 2011 from complications of Alzheimer's disease. He was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1936. Tom was the devoted father to Jean Aldridge Jones, Thomas Frederick Aldridge II (wife Kathy), and Robert Hamilton Aldridge (wife Sherrie). Tom was blessed with seven wonderful grandchildren; Jean Marie Jones, Reid Jones, Tori Aldridge, Tina Aldridge, Rachel Aldridge, Victoria Jones, and Will Aldridge. In addition, Tom has one brother, Hamilton (Rusty) Aldridge. Tom was predeceased by his parents, Delores and Hamilton, and a sister, Patricia Aldridge Kipfmueller. Tom was owner and President of Springfield Tool and Die, Inc., of Duncan, S.C., a family business started in Detroit by his grandfather in 1927. He was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and of Knights of Columbus Council 9184. Tom was a true Renaissance man with many many interests. He loved working on cars and built a Bugatti kit-car. He was musically talented and especially enjoyed playing the banjo; several of which he made. He was an avid antiques tool collector and a member of the Mid-West Antique Tool Collectors Association. Tom also loved woodworking and made several lovely pieces of furniture as well as the mantle in his home. Tom loved the water and always had a boat of some kind. Tom and Jean loved to travel and were fortunate to have visited most areas of the world. Tom had many loves and interests but his love for his family was always the most important. He was the best husband, father, and grandfather there could be. John dedicated over 11 years in the US Army serving in Vietnam and Germany. He also attended Michigan State University in Michigan and GRCC in Auburn, WA. He worked for the Boeing Company for over 26 years and was proud to be part of working on the 1st Presidential Airplane and the B2 Stealth Bomber. He is preceded in death by his parents Albert and Audrey Blake, his brother Robert Blake, and his sister Patricia Sheroski from Michigan. He is survived by his brother Henry (Hank) Blake and wife Aimee of Roscommon, Michigan, and nieces and nephews. John will be remembered as a beloved brother, uncle, and friend. LENHOFF MYRTLE Age 88 of West Bloomfield, died March 20, 2011. Born to David and Eva Frenkel, Myrtle lived her entire life in the Detroit area. In 1945 she married the decorated World War II veteran, Harold Lenhoff and was his devoted wife for the next 58 years, until his death in 2003.Myrtle and Harold are survived by their two children - Susan Moore (Al) of Pleasant Hill, California, and Glen Lenhoff of Ortonville, Michigan; her granddaughter Rebecca Cunningham (John); and two great -grandchildren, Mia and Nicolas Cunningham. Myrtle is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Rhoda Frenkel, and their children. Myrtle was a talented educator who touched the lives of many students at John F. Kennedy School in Southfield, Michigan where she was the librarian and taught special math classes. Her children, on occasion, heard former students remark that Myrtle had been their favorite teacher. For all but the last 7 weeks of her life, Myrtle enjoyed an independent and active lifestyle. She was a kind, charitable, cheerful, and loving person. Her many friends and her family will remember her positive outlook, warm personality, and gentle nature. She knew the value of friendship, and often spent time with people she had known for decades. She never took her friends for granted. The world will never be the same for her family. No one could have asked for a better or more loving mother, sister, or grandmother. Her family's love will be unending.
