BLANCHARD GEORGE EDWARD Age 84 of Brighton, passed away August 2, 2013. Born in Detroit, MI on July 31, 1929 a son of Joseph and Dorothy (Rolfe) Blanchard. On July 17, 2002 his wife, Ann Margaret Blanchard, preceded him in death after almost 50 years of marriage. He was a police officer for the City of Detroit for 25 years and worked security for the Detroit Red Wings for 28 years. Following his retirement, Mr. Blanchard received his counseling degree and worked as a substance abuse counselor at Brighton Hospital for 11 years. He is a member of the STITT Post, Dearborn. Surviving are wife and best friend, Dora Cox; children Patti (Joe Dosti) Blanchard, Julie (Bill) Gorman, Glenn (Holly) Blanchard, and Carol (Brian) Mullaney; grandchildren Jacob and Billie Lynn Gorman, Eric and Sara Blanchard, and Steven Mullaney.
