CHAPP JAMES Lived by his convictions and never half-did anything, whether it was serving the country he loved (two years as an Army corporal), supporting his family (38 years as a MichCon mechanic), pursuing his passions (dozens of meticulously restored classic cars), or enjoying his family, friends, and a couple of "cold ones". (He was fond of saying, "A bird can't fly on one wing.") Jim's gruff voice made him seem tougher than he really was, however, we knew him as an old softiea good man with a big heart. Jim was a devoted husband to Jean (every day for 26 years he told her she was the "love of his life"); father to Jim (Kay), John (deceased), Jeff (deceased) and wife Jamie, Joe (Cindy) and Jerald (deceased); grandfather to Jim III, Sharon, Jason, Joe and Alexis; uncle; and a great friend to many. He left us on April 2, 2012, at the age of 79, and he will be missed dearly.
