LEONARD ALBERT "AL" LEO Age 84, passed away August 4, 2010 in Tawas City, Michigan. Al was born October 12, 1925, in Corning, Arkansas, son of Betty and Willie Leonard. Al worked 35 years at the Ypsilanti Ford Plant and owned and operated Leonard's Gutter Co., Ypsilanti, MI. He married Christine Vinson of Popular Bluff, Missouri and they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on March 4th, 2010. He is survived by his wife, Christine; seven children: Larry (Janet) Leonard, of Belleville, MI, Gary Leonard of Ypsilanti, MI, Linda (David-d.) Morin of Oscoda, MI, Brenda Leonard of Ypsilanti, Charolette Wilson of Westland, MI, Angela Leonard of Ypsilanti, MI and Amy Cousino of Perrysburg, Ohio; one sister Dorothy (Bill) Farquharson of Bellaire, MI and one brother Kenneth Ray (Jewel-d.) Leonard of Oklahoma. Also survived by 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Al will be deeply missed by his two loving cats, Tommy and Bobby. He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and four brothers. Al will be missed by his many friends of Oscoda St., his friends at Zubek Ford Dealership and the many children who "adopted" him as their grandpa. Al was a simple man with a loving heart and endless patience and will be missed by his family and friends, but never forgotten. May he rest in peace! Dad is now working on his biggest house - The House of the Lord. Visitation and services were held Saturday, August 7, 2010 at the Buresh-Bennett Funeral Home, of Oscoda. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Cemetery in Oscoda. The family has requested in lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Research Foundation, in hopes that a cure will be found soon for this unforgiving disease.
