STONE WILBUR JEROME III April 28, 1981 - May 28, 2012 departed this week to reunite with his beloved mother, Norzella Stone and grandmother, Bernice Stone. He leaves behind many loved ones including his loving wife, Jennifer Stone, children: Cody, Collin, Wilbur IV, Elijah, Mikaila and Kiev. Wil is also survived by his father, Wilbur Stone Jr. and his siblings. His legacy also continues through his donation to Michigan Gift of Life. He formerly worked in law enforcement and presided as a shift engineer at Earthgrains Baking Company, was an active Congressional Delegate of the 14th District, and currently enrolled for studies in pharmaceuticals & laboratory research at Eastern Michigan University. BARNES CARL F., JR. Age 76, died May 25, 2012 in Crittenton Hospital, Rochester Michigan. Mr. Barnes had a long history of heart disease. Born 10 June, 1935, he was son of the late Carl F. Barnes and Ella Simms Clore Barnes. At the time of his death, Dr. Barnes was Professor Emeritus of Art History at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan, where he had taught from 1971 to 2001. He had previously taught at The Pennsylvania State University and The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. At Oakland University he served as chairman of the Department of Art and Art History, assistant to the dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, and director of the Center for the Arts. Dr. Barnes was a specialist in European medieval art, and published extensively on the drawings of the 13th-century French artist Villard de Honnecourt. He served as president of The International Center of Medieval Art and as president of Association Villard de Honnecourt for the Interdisciplinary Study of Medieval Technology, Science, and Art. He is survived by his wife: Anna M. Barnes, of Rochester Hills, Michigan; two sons: Carl F. Barnes III of Wayland, Massachusetts, and George F. Barnes of Verona, New Jersey; and three grandchildren: Robert Fleming Barnes, Ella Corinne Barnes, and Caitlin Jeanne Barnes. He will be cremated and buried at a private ceremony in the Barnes Family plot at Olivet Presbyterian Church in Albemarle County, Virginia. There will be an additional memorial service at the Oakland University Art Gallery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Michigan Animal Rescue League, Pontiac, Michigan where Carl was a longtime volunteer and photographer following his retirement.

BRANNOCK CARL RAYMOND "RAY" Age 86 of Bloomfield Hills MI passed away Tuesday May 29th 2012 at his home. Youngest of three boys, Mr. Brannock was born June 21st 1925 in Ferndale MI. As a graduate of Ford Trade School, he first worked at Oldsmobile as a Tool & Die maker working in Lansing, Michigan while attending night school at Michigan State University. Carl graduated from Michigan State with a Journalism degree and was a devoted Spartan. He continued his career working in the Ford Motor Purchasing Department in the executive ranks. Carl retired in 1987 after a successful career as the Executive Vice President of Republic Die and Tool in Wayne, Michigan. Carl loved family gatherings, living on the lake, golf and helping his church. He was a loving father, grandfather and husband. Carl was married to Germaine Brannock (nee Warstler) for 57 years until her death 11 weeks ago to the day. Carl is survived by his daughter Kim (Daniel Nye II) of Troy, MI, and sons Kirk (Patricia) of Bloomfield Hills, MI and Todd of Rockford, MI. Also survived by four grandchildren Daniel Nye III (Katharina), Katherine Brannock, Abigail Nye, Kelly Brannock. Carl will be missed by many. BARNES CARL F., JR. Age 76, died May 25, 2012 in Crittenton Hospital, Rochester Michigan. Mr. Barnes had a long history of heart disease. Born 10 June, 1935, he was son of the late Carl F. Barnes and Ella Simms Clore Barnes. At the time of his death, Dr. Barnes was Professor Emeritus of Art History at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan, where he had taught from 1971 to 2001. He had previously taught at The Pennsylvania State University and The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. At Oakland University he served as chairman of the Department of Art and Art History, assistant to the dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, and director of the Center for the Arts. Dr. Barnes was a specialist in European medieval art, and published extensively on the drawings of the 13th-century French artist Villard de Honnecourt. He served as president of The International Center of Medieval Art and as president of Association Villard de Honnecourt for the Interdisciplinary Study of Medieval Technology, Science, and Art. He is survived by his wife: Anna M. Barnes, of Rochester Hills, Michigan; two sons: Carl F. Barnes III of Wayland, Massachusetts, and George F. Barnes of Verona, New Jersey; and three grandchildren: Robert Fleming Barnes, Ella Corinne Barnes, and Caitlin Jeanne Barnes. He will be cremated and buried at a private ceremony in the Barnes Family plot at Olivet Presbyterian Church in Albemarle County, Virginia. There will be an additional memorial service at the Oakland University Art Gallery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Michigan Animal Rescue League, Pontiac, Michigan where Carl was a longtime volunteer and photographer following his retirement.
