She was born in Detroit, MI on November 22, 1923 to the late Michael and Mary (Mooney) McCullough. She married Walter Zelinsky on August 17, 1951 in Detroit. He preceded her in death in 2011, after 60 years of marriage. Margaret graduated from Mercy School of Nursing. She worked at Oakland County Health Department as a public health nurse for over 20 years, mainly in the Farmington Hills area. Margaret was a member of the Michigan Nurse's Association.She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Roscommon. BRENDER CYNTHIA LEE (NEE LANGE) 65, of Grosse Pointe Park, MI, passed away on Tuesday evening, March 4, 2014, after a long struggle with Alzheimer's Disease. Cynthia was a born traveler, advocate, consummate cook and a loving mother, wife, sister, and friend. She was born on August 24, 1948 to Ruthella and the late Alison Lange in Sioux City, Iowa and raised in Rockwell City, IA where she lived until attending the St. Luke's School of Nursing back in Sioux City. She moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota for her first nursing position, spent a year in South Korea, then settled in Detroit, Michigan where she raised a family and remained active in the community. After leaving nursing, Cynthia went back to school for an MBA at Marygrove College, ran a catering business, owned her own boutique, managed a large clothing store then served as director of development for AIDS Partnership Michigan until her untimely diagnosis. Cynthia is survived by Robert Brender, her loving and devoted husband; her two daughters, Kristen Feemster-Kim and Kara Feemster; step-sons, James and Jeff Brender; and two grandchildren, Torin and Fayola Kim. Cynthia is also survived by her mother, Ruthella; her brothers, Timothy, Mark, and Bill Lange; and sister, Deborah Wheatley; and their families. Her beautiful smile and generous spirit have touched so many and will be remembered always. Mary graduated from the University of Michigan at the age of 20 with a major in mathematics. She was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority at U of M. Mary and Jack have been lifelong members of Pine Lake Country Club in Orchard Lake. Mary was a Life Member of the Women's District Golf Association of Michigan where she had many close friends and friendly competitors. Mary was an accomplished athlete, enjoying tennis, swimming and skiing in addition to golf. She succeeded in passing this competitive spirit to all of her children and grandchildren. Mary often described herself as " 100 lbs. of fun!" Mary and Jack were avid travelers and were long-time members of the Nomads Travel Group and enjoyed trips all over the world. Mary was a member of Kirk in the Hills Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday school. She will be greatly missed by all.
