SEVONTY ABDON JOSEPH age 101 passed into God's hands March 11, 2012 in AZ. He was born July 30, 1910, in Pierz, MN into a large, hardworking farming family of 13 children. At 16, the entire family moved to Michigan, where he began a long career in the automobile industry, culminating in his retirement at 60 from Chrysler after 40 yrs. He was a man of great moral character, strong faith in God, and a tremendous father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was my role model both as a child and as an adult. His legacy to his family is beyond measure. With deepest love, respect, and appreciation, we say "thank you." You are home. Your deeds speak volumes to the kind of man you were. Abdon is survived by his beloved daughter Janet B. STEVENSON ROBERT LOUIS, 88, of Ocean Hills, California, died Thursday, March 8, 2012. Robert served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and graduated from Bradley University in 1950. He was an Industrial Arts teacher at Hazel Park High School, in Hazel Park, Michigan, from 1950 to 1980, while residing in Ferndale, MI. He taught machine shop, power mechanics, and later on, wood shop. He retired in 1980, and moved to California. At his retirement, it was noted that in all those years, he never had a student seriously injured. Robert is survived by his devoted wife of 35 years, Marie Stevenson of Ocean Hills, CA, his sons, Lawrence Stevenson of Sequim, Washington, Craig Stevenson of Vancouver, WA, (both formerly of Ferndale, MI), step sons Richard, George, and Mark, step daughter Elizabeth, 12 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, his sisters Phyllis and Betty, and a brother, Richard.
