ROBERTS JOSEPH P. died on Friday, April 18, 2014 after a short battle with cancer. He was born on July 19, 1947 in Ann Arbor, Michigan to T.H. (Bob) Roberts and Violet Osier Roberts. After graduating from Plymouth High School and Eastern Michigan University, Joe followed in his father's footsteps into the auto industry and served Pontiac Motor Division in sales and service for 29 years. Upon retirement he spent his time golfing and enjoying time with his family, in particular his granddaughters, and fulfilled a dream of moving to Hilton Head, SC. He is s survived by his beloved wife of nearly 46 years, Karen (Hembrey) Roberts, his brother Ted Roberts, and two children, Kelly (Christopher) Dingee and Daniel (Mary) Roberts, and four grandchildren: Carolyn, Carly and Chelsea Dingee and Kathryn Roberts. A private family memorial will be held in June.
RORABACHER, LYNN J. Of Pinckney, Michigan. Age 70, died Thursday afternoon, May 22, 2014 at Arbor Hospice-The Residence in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He was born June 16, 1943 in Northville, Michigan, the son of Sterling and Betty (Bartrem) Rorabacher. Lynn married Elaine Walz on November 21, 1970 in Ann Arbor, Michigan and she survives. He is also survived by his daughter, Sarah Kirkish. Lynn received his Masters Degree from the University of Michigan and worked as a Biologist for Pfizer Corporation. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Pinckney Congregational Church, 125 E. Unadilla St., Pinckney, Michigan with Rev. SMITH, RONALD FRANCIS Age 92, a twenty year resident of the Columbiaville area, formerly of Birmingham, died Monday May 19, 2014. He was born July 6, 1921 in Brown City to parents Roy and Myrtle (Swayze) Smith. Mr. Smith moved to Birmingham from Brown City in the early 1920s and graduated from Birmingham Baldwin High School in 1939. He married Marion R. Fenner on January 24, 1948 in Pontiac. Mr. Smith was an accomplished woodworker. He owned and operated his own woodworking shop in Birmingham for over 50 years. Ronald enjoyed traveling, boating and being involved with the United States Power Squadron educating boaters. Ron is survived by his wife of 66 years: Marion R. Smith, children: Cindy (Gene) Gottschalk of Pasadena, MD, Ron H. Smith of Columbiaville, M. He was a very talented soul, whose love of music, dance and theater took him around the world. He wrote music, played the drums and was a lead singer in a band. He danced in Vegas with his partner "Ludovika". Bill had a passion for sports, primarily football and baseball with the Seaholm Maples. He was the lead quarterback in football and was the number 1 pitcher of his team. Bill also helped to take them to Kentucky for the regional playoffs. Though the Detroit Tigers asked him to try out for their team he chose not to so that he could pursue music and dance. He had throughout his life a "joie de vivre" that few people ever have. He is survived by his two children, Elle Kaye Spinning and William Chase Spinning of Antelope, California and his sister, Mary S. Shier of Columbiaville, Michigan.
