TERRELL MONICA Eaton Rapids, MI. Monica Terrell, age 60 , passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2010. She was born on December 10, 1949, the daughter of Mason C. and Lucy Ann (Williams) Terrell. Monica was a graduate of Southeastern High School in Detroit and Eastern Michigan University, where she became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. Monica enjoyed a long career in education and recreation in Michigan and California. She retired from the State of Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Environment, where during her tenure she headed the campground host program, and designed and implemented programs that succeeded in getting a variety of people to visit a Michigan state park for the first time. She was Michigan's first female and first African American state park manager. Monica was passionate about her six Siberian huskies and dog-sledding. Monica was preceded in death by her mother and father, and is survived by twin sister Veronica, sister Patricia (Andrew) Quinn, brother Roy Daniels, nephews Andrew S. Quinn (Wonda), Austin T. Quinn (Dana Apter), and Jarecea Tate, 2 grandnieces, cousins, aunts, and numerous friends. Funeral Services will be at Aurelius Baptist Church 4419 W. Barnes Rd.
