MERRYMAN PHYLLIS OGDEN 83, of Bloomfield Hills, passed away on June 26. Born May 20, 1927 in Utica, New York. Daughter of Mary and George Ogden. Loving wife of Roger P. Merryman, Jr. Dear sister to Deborah Ogden of San Francisco, California, and siblings Clark, Judy, Penny. Dear mother of Roger III, Cleveland, Anne Weber (deceased), Joan Merryman (Julius), Sally (David) Bean, and David (Mary Lou) Merryman of Vernon Hills, Illinois. Loving grandmother to Shantih Yamasaki (Kent) Johnston, Ryan (Buffy) Merryman, Chelsea, Natalie, David, and Bryant. Doting great- grandmother to Logan, Lauren, Annie, Marlys, Madelyn, and John Charles, along with 19 nieces and nephews. Mrs. Merryman was a graduate of The Lincoln School, Providence, RI; Tufts University, Medford, MA. A devoted wife and mother, very active during her lifetime with tennis, swimming, golf, crossword puzzles, Scrabble, Monopoly, bridge, and an avid reading enthusiast. She loved sports and preparing healthy meals. She volunteered her time at Cranbrook, Hospice, AHA, and for others in need. Following cremation, per her wishes, a family Memorial Service will be held. We miss you.

We never met. However, she was the mother of my dear friend Roger. R.I.P.
As one of her children I can think of no better way to leave us then to make us laugh. Upon arrival at the hospital she was asked her name, her husband's name, the day and the date all of which she answered correctly. When asked to if she knew the President's name she uttered, "Oh Bummer!" to which many have continued to laugh. Thanks Mom. We will miss you and love you dearly. We will take care of Dad.
