I met Gretchen when I was a chaplain at Harper Hospital and her father had suffered a heart attack. I had many a talk with Gretchen and her mother. They were great people. My sympathy goes to the famiy and the Mercy Community.

My heart and my spirit of celebration are with family,Mrcy community, and friends this morning. I cannot be at the Memorial Eucharist for helth reasons of my own. I treasure the love, service, and graced influence Gretchen brought to us all. Besides sharing her perceptions of beauty, she modelled dedication to church and community. Our years shared in Boston in study and growth enabled me to appreciate how Gretchen used her gifts for the praise of God and the ennoblement of others. I am with you in grief and celebration.

I was so sorry to hear of the death of one of the class of '59. Gretchen and I were in many art classes together and she was always a smiling and cheerful classmate. My prayers and condolences to her family.

Thank you for putting the slide show of Gretchen's life on the website for the Sisters, Larry. I have known Gretchen as an artist and singer. Her happy family life and community life are witness to her loving being. May God hold her tenderly now and may she intercede for us before our Loving God.

Families and Friends of Gretchen, My sincere sympathy and prayers have been with you, since I first heard of her failing health. Gretchen was a tremendous leader in our whole RSM community. I have seen and experienced her caring and responsive leadership. Gretchen's personal presence is a loss to all of us, especially those of us who have seen her dedication and zeal. I believe we can be sure, her love of our RSM Community and her family will continue to influence our lives in the days ahead. My prayers are with all who mourn her death. May God be with you!

Gretchen is remembered for her endless energy and beauty. She entered into everything with full attention. I remember her clear and challenging questions when we work on forming the Institute. She was a gift to our Community.

My thoughts and prayers have been and continue for Gretchen's family, friends, co-workers, and fellow Mercy members, particularly in the WMW Community. My encounters w/ Gretchen over the years, though few and far between have been enriching ones.
