MEADOWS CHARLES D. of Highland Beach, Florida, formerly of Pleasant Ridge, passed away at home on March 7, 2011 under the loving care of his two daughters, Carol Woodhurst and Janet Keller, his devoted caregiver, and Hospice of Palm Beach County. He was 94 years old. Charley was a founding partner of the Detroit law firm, Foster, Meadows, and Ballard. He received his juris doctor degree in law from Detroit College of Law and was selected for fellowship in the American College of Trial Lawyers. He served in the U.S. Army's Counter Intelligence Corp (CIC) during World War II and landed on the beaches of Normandy during the D-Day invasion. He was an avid golfer and longtime member of Red Run Golf Club. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. Charley was cremated and will rest next to wife, Ruthie, at White Chapel Cemetery, Troy, Michigan. A memorial service will be held at Mariners Church, Detroit, on Saturday, April 2 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Michigan State University College of Law/Office of Advancement/400 Law College Building/East Lansing/MI 48824.
