My heart goes out to the family for the loss of Ernest. He was a good man and a good friend. I will miss his wisdom and experiences.
Ernest Kelly was always a blessing to me. I remember days when he would come to our house, or see him at the radio station promoting his records. He was a household name and a very dear friend. If it had not been for Ernest's influence I would not have been so astute about music publishing, copyrighting, and the pros and cons of the music business at such an early stage in my career. I have since taught many of my students and fellow contemporaries the basics because of Ernest Kelly, After my mother, Martha Jean, The Queen passed in Jan, 29, 2000, he was always connection with the history and legacy of Motown always reminding me about his and my mother's role in the making of Motown. He advised me on many things. He loved the recording industry, the artists, and the LEGACY fo what Detroit is really all about. His last call to me STILL on my messages is "Hi, Diane, my dear friend, this is Ernest Kelly" and a loyal friends he was and will all ways be in my heart.
