COOK ERMA L. TINSLEY 73 of Pine Bluff, Arkansas died at JRMC on Sunday, July 29, 2012. Mrs. Cook was born December 12, 1938 in Cornerstone, AR, daughter of the late Eddie Tinsley and Mandy Nelson Tinsley. She was an educator in the Battle Creek Public Schools for 23 years. Her civic involvement included Michigan Education Association and National Education Association delegate; union President; member of the Neighborhood Planning Council in Battle Creek; and she diligently worked every election until her illness for Jefferson County. She is survived by her husband of 54 years Albert Cook of Pine Bluff, two sons, David Cook of Detroit MI, Albert Stanley Cook and his wife Tammi of Crown Point, IN; daughters, Sharon Hogan of Charlotte, NC, Janice Cook Johnson and her husband Gregory of Wixom, MI; three sisters, Ida Robinson and Lueretha Mixon both of Pine Bluff, AR and Eldorado Holmes of Hercules, CA; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services were held Saturday, August 4, 2012 with burial will be in Forrest Lawn Memorial Garden in Pine Bluff, AR by Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.
