2012-10-02BANAS GARY E. Age 64, passed away on September 29, 2012 at the VA Hospital in Ann Arbor. A funeral service is planned for Wednesday, October 3, at 11 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Clare. Fr. Bill Rutkowski will officiate with burial following in Surrey Township Cemetery. Friends may visit at the Campbell-Stocking Funeral Home in Farwell, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Gary was born on September 27, 1948, the son of Edward and Stephanie (Workun) Banas in Hamtramck, MI. After graduating High School, Gary proudly served our country with the United States Army, from 1968-1971. He worked as an automotive CAD designer. He had interests in Photographic Historical Societies, and was an avid collector of both Military and Great Lakes Memorabilia. Gary leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Stephanie of Farwell; his brother, Steven Banas (Rebecca) of Oxford; his sister Nancy Densmore (John) of Farwell; and a niece Cherilyn Banas and nephew Bradley Banas.
