BROWNING VELONIA (ATKINS) Age 96. Died peacefully in her sleep on September 29, 2012. Originally from Camden, AK. Spent most of her life in Highland Park, working for Highland Park General Hospital. Loving wife of the late Leonard Browning. Mother of Leonard, Jr., Odell, Margaret, Patricia (Parker), Nathaniel Pete, and Venus. Sister of Idell Atkins. Dear auntie of the late NBA Players, George and John Trapp. Proud grandmother of many grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren. Viewing Sunday, 3-7 p.m., Swanson Funeral Home, 14751 McNichols Rd W., Detroit. Funeral Monday, in state 10:30 a.m. with an 11:00 a.m. service at Corinthian Baptist Church, 1725 Caniff, Hamtramck.
