2012-10-05FISCHER GERALD, 73, from Garden City passed away on October 3rd from a couragious battle with Cancer. He is survived by his loving wife Paulette; four children: Jerry Jr. (Cheryl), Patrick (Stacey). Danielle (Michael) and Shawn. Gerald has 15 wonderful grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also survived by brother Gary, sisters Gina and Gaye and step-mother Ruth. Visitation today 2-8 p.m., service Saturday 11:30 a.m. at Santeiu & Son, Garden City. Gerald will be laid to rest at Mt. Hope Memorial Gardens, Livonia.

I was very blessed to have known Gerry. I met him at Henry Ruff Elementary a few years ago when I was picking up my daughter Danielle and he his grandson. My daughter was very fond of Gerry. She always looked forward to seeing him in the morning before school and then again after school. He would take her for rides in his mustang and other times to the movies, lunch, and the park. My boys were just as fond of him also. He was a very dear friend to me and Dennis and we will miss him terribly. He always had a smile on his face and would light up our day when he would visit. We were very blessed to have him in our lives. Rest in Peace dear Gerry, Rest in Peace.
