ESPER MARY HELEN (NEE McCORMICK) January 2, 1925 October 18, 2012. Mary Helen was born and raised in Dearborn by her parents, the late Patrick and Margaret McCormick. She attended St. Alphonsus Church and school. Married to the dearly departed Lawrence Esper. Became the mother of 5 children. She lost her beloved daughter Arlene L. Graham to cancer in 2009. Survived by her daughter Linda (Mike) DeJarnett. Her son-in-law David Graham and sons Bernard (Peggy) Esper, Bill (Donna) Esper, and Don Esper. Also survived by 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Predeceased by brothers Tom and Jack McCormick and brother-in-law Ralph Mertz. Survived by her sister Pat Mertz, brother Denny McCormick and his wife Mary and many cherished nieces and nephews. She earned a degree in nursing and enjoyed that work for many years. In her retirement she enjoyed exercising with her friends at the Westland Friendship Center, gardening, drawing, painting and joining various clubs and organizations in the Wayne Community. She loved her dog, Babe. She became a traveler, with Ireland becoming her favorite place. In her travels and in her life, she made many friends. She will be greatly missed. Family will receive visitors Sunday 1 9pm at the Uht Funeral Home, 35400 Glenwood Rd., Westland.
