MANSFIELD ROBERT JAMES Age 77 of Addison Township. October 27, 2012. Beloved husband of Carolyn for 40 years. Dear brother of Christine Werling, Eric (Barbara) Mansfield, Mary (John) Morehouse, Patricia Mansfield, and Kathleen (Jay) Schmidt. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Robert was an Honorary Brother of the Order of Christian Brothers of DeLaSalle, a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and Structural Engineers of Michigan. Funeral service Thursday, November 1, 2012, 11:00 a.m. at the Modetz Funeral Home, 100 E. Silverbell Rd., Orion. Visitation Tuesday and Wednesday 2:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Bob and I as cousins were very close as youngsters both being the eldest sons in our respective families. His prowess as an athlete at De LaSalle was an inspiration to me as I tried to follow in his footsteps. His politeness and gentlemanly behavior stood above the crowd and we regret having lost contact with him after we moved to the west coast. May Carolyn and all the descendants and entire family of Eric & Helen Mansfield be consoled in remembering his wonderful and exemplary life. May Bob rest in peace with the Lord as we keep him in our thoughts and prayers.

Our deepest sympthay to you Carolyn. I'm so glad Bob and I could renew our friendship this last year. I'll always remember Bob simply as a nice guy, somebody you hope your own boys will grow-up to be like. Our prayers are with you.
