JOSEPH "JOE" L. GRABENSTEIN

GRABENSTEIN JOSEPH "JOE" L. age 67, of Grand Rapids, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2012. He is survived by his wife of 25 years Pat Grabenstein; son Matthew Grabenstein of Cleveland, Ohio; daughter Nora (Alex) Guenault of Atlanta, Georgia; son Robert Grabenstein of Grand Rapids; granddaughter Claire Guenault; and brothers and sister Gary Grabenstein, Mark Grabenstein, Donna (Ken) Ellrich, and Alan (Judy) Grabenstein. Joe was a Vietnam veteran serving as a SGT. in the US Army. He graduated from Eastern Michigan University and retired as a sales manager from the insurance and banking industry. Joe was an avid Detroit Tigers fan, who enjoyed playing the trumpet, loved big band music, the outdoors and had a passion for woodworking. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 12 p.m. (noon) Friday, November 23, 2012 at St. Robert of Newminster Parish, 6477 Ada Dr. S.E., Ada, MI 49301with Rev. Fr. Len Sudlik as celebrant. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army. Visitation will be held Friday at the Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Home from 9-11:30 a.m. The family is being served by Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Service, 4291 Cascade Rd.
