Betsy, mom called and informed me of the news. I tried calling you on Sunday; however, the line was busy throughout the day.I want you and your family to know that you are in my prayers and thoughts during this most difficult time. Grief is truly the price we pay for loving. I remember our times together as if it were yesterday. I know that he will continue to walk you.

John was a big man with an even bigger heart. We loved sharing life with him years ago at St. Gerard (now Corpus Christi) parish in Detroit. He has gone home to the Lord for Christmas. May he rest in peace.
