My love and prayers go out to you Mary and to my dear cousins Phyllis, Julie and Laura who have had enough grief for a life time. Uncle Thommy will always be remembered for his love for his family, his quick wit (or not!) and for his devotion to his sisters, Donna Gariepy and Delores Hendren. May they all rest in peace, together again.
One of the best memories I have of my Dad is at the Gariepy's house on Mendota in Detroit. Fortunately (or unfortunately) we would be at the Gariepy's when Diane or Delores had dates come and pick them up and the HARD time my dad would give those poor boys!!
One of my fondest memories was my first trip to Detroit to meet Thom's family for his birthday party. After the biggest bear hug I've ever had to the sounds of "mom" ringing in my ears from a terrific son-in-law, Cliff, and the first time I was called "grandma" by lovely Chelsea, and spilling a glass of beer all over my wonderful sisters-in-law, Delores and Donna, and the immediate hugs, warm fuzzies from the bunch of family with beautiful eyes" and souls to match; I felt completely welcomed, accepted and loved by all. It's never changed and I feel so very blessed to have married into such a wonderful family that has become my own. I am the luckiest woman in the world to have experienced the last 24 years enveloped with such love. It is my great honor to be a part. You are all such an intricate part of our lives AND our healing. May God bless you and yours.
I graduated from St. Luke's Grade School in 1952. One of my classmates was a Thomas Hamilton. Please advise whether Thomas Muir Hamilton and Thomas Hamilton are one and the same. If they are, please accept my condolences and my regrets that Tom and I had not met in over 30 years to reminisce about our days at St. Lukes.
Would someone be so kind as to contact me either via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or at (313) 278-8889 and let me know if this Thomas Hamilton graduated from St. Luke's Grade School in 1952.
