VON STEEG EUGENE Died December 23, 2012. A resident of Oxford for over 35 years, Eugene worked many of those years at Chrysler Corp. in a variety of positions, ending in product planning for Dodge Truck. He earned a BS degree in mechanical engineering from the Detroit Institute of Technology and an MS degree in administration from Central Michigan University. Upon retirement, he dedicated himself to ministries at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Lake Orion, and to volunteer work with Oxford Orion FISH food bank where he served on the board of directors. Eugene is survived by his widow Margaret; son, James; daughter, Lesley Larson; and grandchildren, Addison Von Steeg and Berit and Foster Larson. A Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 715 N. Lapeer Rd., Lake Orion, on Thursday, December 27, at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, donations in Eugene's memory may be made to Oxford Orion FISH. Arrangements entrusted to Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors, Oxford.

I am so sorry to hear of Gene's death. I did not know Gene very well, but the little I did know of him was that he was a gentle, nice man who I always enjoyed speaking with. Gene and his brother Al were both good men who I knew professionally and I am saddened that they are both gone. My best wishes and condolences to Margaret and her children and grandchildren.
