JUREK BERNARD "JERRY" Age 87 . January 2, 2013. Beloved husband of the late Eileen for 66 years. Loving father of Thomas Jurek, William "Bill" (Pat) Jurek, Cherilyn (Gary) Larson and Connie (Joseph) Doa. Cherished grandfather of nine and great-grandfather of four. Dear brother of Roma (Don) Steckling. Memorial Service Monday, January 7, 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Farmington, 26165 Farmington Road, Farmington Hills, MI 48334. Visitation Friday 2-9 p.m. at Thayer-Rock Funeral Home, 33603 Grand River Ave. (one blk. w. of Farmington Rd.), Downtown Farmington. Memorials suggested to the Church.

I worked for BJ at the Shell Plant in St. Louis in the late 60's as a GF and again at The Detroit Forge in the 70's. My condolences to his family. He was a gentleman, a good leader, a fair man to work for, he provided opportunities to me for which I will always remember him fondly. I am sorry to read of his passing and wish his family well.

I worked for Jerry during his entire tenure at Chevrolet Detroit Forge. He was by far the the best role model I ever worked with or for in my career at G.M. I am truly sorry for your loss and you should know that a loss is felt by many of us that knew him.

Jerry's tenure at Chevy Detroit Forge did more for the rejuvenation of plant & facilities than anyone. Detroit could use more like him now!
