Benny was a true friend. We know he will be walking and running all over Heaven now. Let's keep all the good memories in our hearts and give thanks to the Lord for his time here with us. Peace and comfort ...
Words can not express my sincere and deepest condolences to the Whitfield family. Beyy, we shared some great years together and I will never forget the friendship that we had. May you rest in peace.
Benny was definitely someone I always looked up to and wanted to emulate. Rest in peace my friend, you will be missed.
i was born and raised in the same town (pottstown, pa.) as benny. we played many games of basketball on the bethany center courts and jefferson playground, usually against each other and usually i was on the losing side because benny was a pretty good baller. But not by accident; he worked very hard, often alone, at perfecting his game and was a fierce competitor. but benny was more than just an athlete. while most of us went off to thearmy or to work in a factory, benny prepared himself and went off to college, no small feat back then for someone with our background. over fourty years later i still remember benny telling me he wanted to be paid, not for what he did, but for what he knew. i would like to extend my sympathies to the whitfield family. benny? gone? it saddens me to hear and to pass on to those who knew him when... rip, benny. may you have a safe passage, my brother. ...steve dunn
I have known Benny, for my entire life. He was always a good man and a true friend. As kids, we played ball and went to school together. I will always be indebted to Benny and another good friend Steve, also from Pottstown, who strongly encouraged me to use the GI Bill, to go to college, when I got out of the Army. I am now a retired college professor, who listened to the wise and caring voice of a wonderful and supportive, lifelong, friend. Peace my brother Vincent Jenkins
Please note that my prayers are with you and your family. Ashley, never had an opportuity to meet you but your father and I worked in the same office in Battle Creek, Michigan many years ago. We both worked for a period of time with Michigan Rehabilitation Services at 223 East Roosevelt. He touched many lives. Please accept my words of sincere sympathy.
My deepest condolences go out to family and friends.
Benny Whitefield was my therapist and he had such a great personality and sense of humor. He was the best therapist that I ever had. I was shocked to learn of his passing today while at another doctor's office; and my heart hurts for the family, he will surely be missed. Benny was a very funny man...he sure kept me rolling and full of laughter, and from what I know he sure did love his family. I will remember him most by his laugh and dedication to his patients, he will forever be missed. I use to sing that song from "Benny & The Jets" to him when I spoke his name, because that song always popped into my head when I went to see him...I miss you Benny. Whenever I pass by your work, I will always remember you. Your favorite patient...Kim:) Peace Benny and may the Spirit of Yaweh be with you and your family always.
To an Inspiring Voice of Reason to so many: Benny Whitfield. Thank you.
Dr. Benny L. Whitfield was the best therapist in the world I was so hurt to hear of his passing especially after I jus spoke with him in November of 2012. He was truly a good man that loved his daughter Ashley, always spoke very highly of her. I remember telling him how I have a lil girl name Ashley also. Benny was a man who loved what he did and knew how to help people with any situation givin. Benny had a close relationship with all of his patients in a way that made u very comfortable to talk to him. Dr. Benny was like another father to me, he was the best!!! I pray that god keeps his family and he will truly be missed ur favorite patient Kim & Ashley from the P.O.
